Hey everyone, if you have black ops 2 and you are a competitive personality then league play is where its at. There are a few of us have started playing league play and are enjoying it. We are looking for a few more to play with us so we can have full teams. If you are interested in doing some ops together let me know when you play and i will try and match you up with a team. I'm so frustrated with Leagues, it's not even funny. I actually changed to BF3 today. HC, I do very well in. Core, I hold my own. Leagues are soo laggy for me, it's not any fun. Example, I get killed before breaking a corner, and the kill cam show a guy coming around the corner and knifing me? WTF? Shit like this happens too much in league for me. I'll stick it out if you guys need me for a team, but otherwise BF3 it is.

On a side note, I've had a blast gaming with you all in leagues, but........:frusty:

:) I love hearing that line, "I am a network engineer". I do help desk support and hear people say that on a daily basis. OK, Mr/Ms network engineer, You designed the network and YOU are having issues with network entry, so why don't YOU fix it instead of calling me? !!!!!

actually i am and i laid out a whole co-location for our oracle migration 2 years ago. Complete with Symetrix DMX and VNX SANs with Cisco nexus switches. I actually got promoted from network engineer to Sr. Systems Admin for the entire oracle infrastructure that runs on OEL linux 5.6. We can talk shop if you want but im sure it would bore most of our members.

That's a sweet setup. Yes, most get bored when there is too much tech talk going on. I'll start a new thread later for that conversation. I am hoping to take Linux+/LPIC exams early 2013, just to have the official documents.

I do have the firewall turned on in my router (Linksys E2000), and I don't have my PS3 in the DMZ. I will do that later, and see what happens. I do have the PS3 connected Cat5, and speed tested with my laptop, so that should be good. I will be on later tonight.

It's just weird how League play always causes more lag for me? :aconfused:

Not me, I'd be thrilled to hear your integration experience with the DMX and Nexus. What type of throughput are you seeing? Are you using this with any VMWare, or just Oracle?

The throughput is 10 gigs internal. I didnt list all the hardware i put in that is running on the nexus switches. I have 2 Data Domains that i am replicating to fort smith arkansas on an OC3 for hot backups they are DD660 and a DD640 alng with a Celera device for NFS mounts. We arent running and VM servers but i have some on Oracles version on a HP DL580 that i use for test purposes. We are on a cluster model using 3 HP DL580s for the DB servers and using DL380s for the app servers. All in all i have around 100 servers in the colocation for use with Oracle. Its pretty fun as long as its all running. During the day i usually have around 50 putty windows open on my pc at a time :). Smoke what are you using for your infrastructure?

I like DELL, I know some people say they have had bad support experience with them, however, I have rarely had a support issue with DELL, only the drive shortages from last year was the biggest support hiccup; personally I have had terrible support experience with HP. In terms of a mission critical system having 2 failed drives in a raid10, and sitting on hold with them for over an hour, just to get a hold of someone (our company supposedly had 24x7, 4hour support) - they told us, that wasn't true, and we didn't get replacement drives for several days, running a critical system on a severely degraded array.

I work fro Rheem Manufacturing we are also privately held thank goodness. As far as support I work with HP support all the time. They arent the best in the world but they are servicable. We also have another provider that i can call on for drives and power supplies. We use compucom for this type of work if its mission critcal i usually have compucom bring me the parts and ill replace them myself. We run all of our servers in raid 10 and its just the OS that is physically installed on the boxes all the data is on the DMX and EMC is connected to these multimillion dollar machines at all times. I like DELL, every computer my family owns is a DELL. We've only had one or two support cases in the past 8 or 9 years, and they were minor. Plus, DELL sells refurbished computers for dirt cheap, and those are the ones we've been buying and they've been holding up well. Probably will build my next computer, but I've been happy with DELL.

Oh don't get me wrong I like dell pcs, its their commercial stuff I fell out of grace with. Our company has 8000 dell laptops and desktops. When i did desktop support I never had a problem with their pc support team their great. we use their gold support. So basically we call them and tell them what is wrong and they send the part. The guys that do that type of support still love them so nothing has changed there.

Been at it a bit. Usually less than 2000 people at any given time in each game type. Can get a bit laggy. Also, lobbies come slowly because you usually have to wait for a match to end. Other than that, it seems ok...
