Any of you guys ever heard of a CJR Restriction? I went to re-enlist today and was told that I was on this list and most likely will not be able to retain my orders and will most likely be force cross-trained or kicked out if I refuse it.

The Air Force has nearly doubled the number of career fields that will face tougher re-enlistment limits for first-term airmen looking to re-enlist. Air Force Personnel Center officials announced that 30 career fields will have career jobs reservation restrictions for . .

I'm pretty sure that's going on in all military branches. It was happening when I was in the military and it happens all the time when any military branch starts to down size

Yeah it's just another way of "Force Shaping". It's a shame that the people that want to reenlist cant.

No idea bro. I have some school to fall back on but I didn't expect to get screwed this bad especially after I already had my assignment. I just don't know... it wouldn't be so bad if I was single but I have a family to consider...

Retrain. It's an awesome change. I did it. I went to loadmaster. I don't regret it. I was so burned out in my last job. Just pick something you think you'd like. Or get out.
I got a fever, and the only prescription, is more Tapatalk.

The Army did this starting a few years back. My reserve unit eliminated all of the cook and TPU admin positions in our company. Most of those who were affected wound up retraining, but a couple of guys decided to take the discharge.

Due to some stupid ass E-3 the worry I had yesterday was not needed. I went and talked to the NCOIC and got it handled. My orders are still on. I did however not reenlist but extended 37 months since I don't have an SRB it makes no difference and if I decide to not reenlist once my tour is up I can separate immediately if I so choose.

I tried going Marines early on and was talked out of it by my father who is a retired E-9 in the AF... he explained a lot of what to expect and it sounded legitimate. I bitch alot about the AF but it has been good to me. I just hate when people fail to do their jobs... especially when my livelihood is on the line.
