Changes in hand held gaming

Ok, this comes from observing the kids at the different sporting events over the last year. The DS has slowly been replaced with the Ipod touch over the year when the kids were at a sporting event they used to all have DS out, now this past Saturday its all Ipod touch's in every kids hand. Also Ipad seems to be the main parent keep from being bored to death device, at the swimming events it funny to look up at the stands and see several Ipad following the swimmers in a heat as the parents are filming their kid swimming. I know my boy has madden on his and other cool games.

Another one to catch is when you're at a bar or social gathering, you'll notice when people who are not socializing will rather be on their phones vs trying to be in the scene. When boredom sets in, to the phone everyone goes

I have an ipod touch myself and they do have some pretty good games and apps.

I don't think phone gaming will really begin to cut into the hardcore gaming market until AT (Augmented Reality) gets added in. But phones will eat into tgr handheld market for sure.

That's......interesting. It'll probably be far too expensive for me to consider, but the possibilities are pretty awesome.

I've confiscated some Ipads from my students, I like Madden. It's actually decent along with some others. The walking dead game is awesome. I saw a whole bunch of them in a group playing it one day, so I had to confiscate one in class to try it out on my lunch break. hahaha.

So that's what teachers would do when they confiscated something that a student brought. How long is the waiting period when it comes to holding onto that type of stuff and then having to give it back?

depends on how many times its been confiscated. I make them wait until the end of the day. If it's more than once, the parents have to come pick it up and they start paying a fine everytime they come pick it up.
