That's a good deal. Download page is still up even though the story says they didn't mean to release it to the whole world.

Saw this. Pretty neat, but I just bought the entire CS6 :(

The monthly plan for CS6 is pretty reasonable. I pay $24 a month for the entire CS6 Master Suite.

I just bought the student edition for $700. I don't really like having monthly plans.

The thought alone of spending that kind of money for software makes me cringe.

It's better than spending $2,500 for the non-student version...

I am thinking it would be. Direct link for the downloads. http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/index.html I am downloading it all from work to make things a bit faster. I have always messed around with Gimp and other alternatives to the Adobe software.

I agree. Before getting PS, I had dabbled in GIMP but PS is better and there are tons of tutorials out there for all versions.

I've messed with CS for a while. A lot of things do carry over into the newer versions, so yes. It's good to learn basics until you're ready to make a jump for the Newer stuff.

What are those other products on the CS2 downloads link? Which one should I download if I wanna just edit and mess with pictures and stuff?

Photoshop CS2, and Photoshop Elements I am guessing. Maybe someone here that is more familiar with the package can provide a bit more information. I downloading everything just to try it out.

Hmm looks like you have to have a serial number once you get it downloaded. Anyone know where I can get one of those?

Photoshop Elements is just a limited version of Photoshop. Get the full version. Yes, this would be a good version to learn on.

Just a heads up. If you're running a Mac with OSX 10.6 and up, it won't run, as apple has removed powerpc support.

What if you have an older MAC Like mine that I bought back in 2008? I never upgraded the OS either

Ok, I checked, If you never updated at all, you'll be fine.

so long as you're not running OSX 10.6 you'll be good or above, you're golden.

I'll have to check when I get home
