View Full Version : [INFO] Looking 4 new Xbox FPS controller
I was just wondering what controller you guys use for FPS. The thumb sticks on my Xbox controller are worn out (every time I turn to fast I panic knife on CoD BO2). I mostly play CoD. I was just gonna get a new wireless but I seen that razar has some FPS controllers out there. Just wanted to know if anyone uses anything differant then the standard console controllers and if so how do the compare. Thanks

I checked out scuf controllers, they do look legit. I probably would have bought one over the frag shark had I known. You should buy them both then.
I want one too, but I have 3 perfectly working wireless controllers already. White, black and the gold c3p0 lol.
I do hate the panic knife I do trying to turn.

SCUF is the way to go if you have funding to shell out. The quick triggers are legit and you can get some sweet back paddles for hard core panic knifing!

You guys use rechargeable batteries for your controllers or just go through a ton of AA batteries?

I have the recharger that Xbox made so it has a recharging cable that plugs in like a wired controller . I was thinking of getting the recharging stand. That comes with 2 rechargeable packs

Ok so on the scuff controllers what kind if setup do you guys do for the paddles? I was thinking left paddle left thumb stick right paddle right thumb stick to take stress off my wrist...
Do NOT even think about the Razer Onza. Horrible.

Recharge packs. I have a cradle that charges 2 controllers. Since I have 2 controllers and 2 packs, I always have one charging while I use the other. When my controller dies, I swap packs.

I was just thinking the same thing. L paddle, L thumb stick. R paddle, R thumb stick. Im thinking about picking up the FPS competitive. Anyone have that controller?

They have wired controllers you can get which are cheaper than the wireless, and are MLG approved. Wireless are not. You can also send in one of your own controllers and they will "Scuf it up" for you for $50, or something close to that. Check there web site for more info!!

I didn't see that it affected knifing except that the sticks are from 0ps3 controllers so you have a different feel.

You can do that by changing the configuration of the buttons in the game settings. Having the button layout on default has the right stick press as your knife but if you switch to tactical setting the knife becomes the B button which would be the right paddle on a scuf controller.

I think I'm going to change to the tactical set up and run with that for a bit. I tried it once in MWF and didn't like, but that's because the knifing in MWF is way better than BOP's

Ok I suck at reviews, and we have people who have had em much longer. So please don't expect a lot.
The box was pretty cool, very professional and nicely packaged, i am big on product packaging and the effort put into it, tells me they take the time to make everything involved of high quality. So when I opened it to see my black on black controller with all the black buttons including the Xbox button and sticks.. Nirvana. It came with batteries since i got the wireless pro model, i also opted for the 10 dollar battery pack and charging cable package which came in black as well, yeah love that too. The grip option was a super idea, I only played a few games since I am sick as a dog, but no slip or the normal sweat slickness.
I am still working on adjusting the trigger , but I found myself winning more confrontations that I almost always lose right away even to the point of killing 2-3. The sticks are gripped ps3 type rounded tops, I like just have to reorient my thumbs to them. I have my sensitivity high so when the no slow turn sticks went I was passing my target and seemed to run a little quicker or my mind tricked me to thinking that. As stated by one of the guys already using this controller series, I will lessen the sensitivity to find that sweet spot. I still am getting used to jumping with the under paddle. The prone (B) paddle saved me already. I have to make sure not to rest my middle finger there I caught myself dolphin diving a few times.
My fire rate seemed better on the 4 weapons I tried, I have the trigger tensions set Tight so I bring up acog and fire quickly. It is cool to turn it and see the trigger move into or out of the controller.
If you buy this controller series remember to check the foam for the Allen wrench for the trigger tension and the batteries if you get wireless are hidden under everything.
I am using the battery pack so those will go to my headset battery stack. The controller took my xp 500 voice puck no problem and the charger is an official Xbox cable so it worked fine too.
If your a halo or battlefield player, you will want to remove the trigger stops( not the tension ones), all the other features I mentioned still work, but the trigger stops are when you pull the trigger, it stops earlier than normally would.
So the only negative I have so far is I wish I had gotten the swivel d pad, not sure why but we always want more lol.
The pictures are of it with my voice puck and charger attached http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/01/29/avyqetut.jpg

I've got it under control now and only "break them" from excessive use, but it took me a few years to get the anger management issue under control. We can make any controller comfortable for almost any gamer. If you like the Scuf trigger stops we can add that to any controller for $25. Also we can No Slow any controller so that it turns at 100% in every direction. No more of that slow turning to one side or anything. Also we have access to Aluminum billet machined buttons and joysticks if that's what your into. They are a bit more then regular button kits and joysticks but they will last FOREVER haha.
I'm definitely interested in one, maybe two custom jobs GC. I'll be hitting up your website tonight maybe to order one.

Also we can No Slow any controller so that it turns at 100% in every direction. No more of that slow turning to one side or anything. Also we have access to Aluminum billet machined buttons and joysticks if that's what your into. They are a bit more then regular button kits and joysticks but they will last FOREVER haha.
Well this sounds interesting if like to see info and a quote on a full setup with custom paint all the scuf add ons and billet buttons and joystick looked on your site but didn't see anything

His flat rate for full artwork and setup is 75$ plus the quick triggers being the 25$ so you should be sitting around 100$. I cannot wait to see mine the ideas him and Watson were throwing around yesterday was unreal.

$100 not bad at all. Is he doing the same art work for the clan and then our gamer tags?

I'll post the design once Beau has it ready. Going to be a clear controller with the front painted black. The "XYAB" buttons are gonna be "KANT" with hopefully the X-Men Logo for my xbox button. Gamertag and usmg on the handles which will be clear. Wolverine montage on the back with his eyes cut out more or less... so every time it vibrates his eyes, gamertag and USMG glow red with Wolverine rage. How's that for BAMFtastic?

We are gonna develop an OFFICIAL USMG controller which most likely you will be able to add your gamertag along with branch of service logo if you would like that option.
