Ok .. since windows 8 came out ive been running a Dual boot System.. cause about 3/4 of my previously installed games would not work.. some old.. some new.. after doing the research i found out that the main issue was .net frameworks.. win 7 was running version 3 and version 3.5 and a early version of 4.. plus it was backwards compatible with prev version.. when win 8 came out it came with frame works version 4.5 and was not backwards compatible... TILL a new version of 4.5 patch just was released and ALL MY GAMES WORK!!!! im still running through some older ones but everything on my desktop seems to work with no problem!! SWEET!!! im deleting my Win7 partition and going straight 8 !!!

list of games on my desktop that i know works with no prob!
1. StarCraft
2. Diablo3
3. Crysis2
4. BLOP-II
5. COD MW3
6. Dishonored
7. SWtOR
8. NFSP MW(new one)
9. BL & BL2

Good to know! Still don't like 8 much, but this will lessen my opposition for sure.

I haven't had a problem running any of my games since upgrading to 8. But the list is very short.

When was the 4.5 patch? This last Tuesday? I stopped reading the update notes/details a while ago; I should get back on that.

But yeah, 8 isn't exactly polished, but at least they're starting to chip away at the idiosyncrasies.

I've been on Windows 8 for a while now and once you master were everything is it runs okay. My games all seem to run fine on windows 8 since I installed it in November. The big thing was all the stuff that is normally in the start menu is a right click in the bottom left and I reorganized the Start menu for only my apps and games. I dislike the Facebook app they have and I am used to having multiple windows of Google Chrome and I had a elective to use the Windows 8 mode. 1 of my favorite things in Windows 8 is that it finds drivers and really fast much better than even Windows 7

i have had a few of my steam games not work.. kinda..
call of duty black ops works wonky..
portal 2 wouldnt work at all till i re-validated the game cache
and half life 2 also was wonky with the resolution but it works

I was already good at windows + shortcuts so that helps. also for me it was like exploring. each corner has menu or switch options as well as the sides of the screen. something a lot of people dont think in start menu or the corners is right clicking, I wish I could tell the start menu to keep all apps showing.I mainly play eve or do basic video editing for highlight films for athletes or some family events. I use display fusion on my 4 screen pc at work, thinking of trying it on windows 8.I hate having the clock and some other things on only 1 screen lol

If I wasnt very invested in 360 and some still on ps3 I would start pc gaming again, I did better on the pc shooters.

i like what windows 8 does with multipe monitors.. each monitor acts as it own.. and i have the background images rotating and they both are different .way cool.. i wonder what else i can find im sure there is a ton of stuff

oh yeah, I finally had more than one photo to use last week and found that rotating thing. it is so cool the kids get excited cause they try to guess which screen they will end up on first, yeah I have a house of nerds lol.

Nothing wrong with nerds for sure. I haven't played with 8 all that much, so I didn't know that. That is definitely cool.
