This could be done several ways, depending on whether you consider raw force power, force potential, or actual accomplishments. I'll post mine later after I think about it.

Jedi: Luke Skywalker is the ultimate Jedi Grandmaster.

Sith: Darth Sidious, the epitomy of the Sith teachings.

Those are the top two, canonically/officially.

OH MAN!!! I have to think now too. So many variables, I am going to say Yoda is my #1 Jedi, because he last 800+ years and is the one who helped Luke on his way after much coxing from Ben Kenobi. I will put more thought into this!

Wow this is a tough one, does The Force Unleashed count as one of the games?

Darth revan is the most powerful in terms of force and accomplishment. He also founded the sith in that time and establishes sith doctrine and teachings.

If it is only going to he a one on one duel however I go with Mace Windu.

There were with before him but revan reestablished the with after the mandalorian wars. Which the republic would have lost if it weren't for what he did as a Jedi.

Or were u reffering to mace windu? As far as light sabering goes he is the best there has ever been.

Revan isn't the most powerful, nor the most accomplished. Bane beat him in both instances, and Sidious is the culmination of everything Bane created.

Mace Windu is the best swordsman? Really?

Revan was a beast, but more so as a Jedi than Sith IMO. Either way, not the #1 on either side though he's pretty high up on both.

One of, but not "THE".

Yoda and Dooku were both his equal. This puts Anakin roughly on par with them. And he actually became better after fully adapting to the suit, which gives Luke some street cred.

You can make an arguement for several others, but actually ranking them is a bit more difficult.

Darth Sidious defeats Yoda, Mace Windu defeats Darth Sideous. If it weren't for Anakin betraying him Mace Windu would have stopped the emperor right there.

Darth Revan conquered the galaxy, twice. Once winning the Mandalorian War for the Republic and once as a Sith. Bane also did a lot and was very strong in the force, but he was inspired by Revan when he found his holocron. Darth Sidious is a very close contender, but I still give the edge to Revan.

Mace doesn't defeat Sidious. The book makes that pretty clear.

Bane was inspired by, that's all. Bane's Sith is radically different from Revan's. His knowledge of the Force is also greater. It's likely his lightsaber abilities are greater as well, though that's mostly a guess. And he wasn't trying to take over the galaxy. He was just laying the foundation.....which did exactly what he wanted to do, in the end.

And Sidious is the absolute culmination of the Sith teachings, and the strongest Sith ever. Canon fact. I'd be happy to hit on some of his accomplishments, but I've got to go to work, lol.
