Story below:
"In breaking news, WFAA has reported this evening that Navy SEAL and bestselling author of the book “American Sniper”, Chris Kyle was murdered at the Rough Creek Lodge in Texas.

WFAA said that two people were killed Saturday at a resort in Erath County, according to an alert from the sheriff’s office. One of the victims at the Rough Creek Lodge near Glen Rose was Chris Kyle, a Navy Seal sniper, according to the alert.

WFAA also stated that police have reportedly captured the suspect who was believed to be highly trained with military experience.

Chris Kyle was a U.S. Navy SEAL and was considered the most lethal sniper in United States military history, with 160 confirmed kills although claims were as high as 255 kills.

Chief Chris Kyle (USN, honorably discharged in 2009) is one of the top snipers in the history of the American armed forces. From 1999 to 2009, he recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. Iraqi insurgents feared Chief Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head. His extensive combat experience includes sniping, close-quarters battle, reconnaissance, long-range desert patrols, personal security and the training for foreign allies. In addition to working and training with the elite Navy SEALs, Chief Kyle has also served with units from the Army, Marine Corps and other government agencies.

Chris was President of Craft International.

The motive for the killing is uncertain at this time.

Update: It has been alleged that Chris Kyle was at a charity event for wounded soldiers when he was murdered. It has been unconfirmed at this time.

Update: (12:19 am EST) It also has been alleged that a former soldier with PTSD that Kyles was working with is the suspect. This has also been unconfirmed at this time.

Update: (12:25 am EST) WFAA is reporting that the suspect, Eddie Routh, 25, is in custody. They reported that Rough, a former Marine who is said to suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome, is believed to have turned his weapon on Kyle and the second victim, killing them both at point-blank range."

I saw this yesterday, it's sad that a American hero was killed helping another. This just shows that our government needs to do more for our fellow members with PTSD, they knew about the affects of war on men since WWI but didn't fully acknowledge it. For all we do for this country we deserve the proper care.

this is sad, from what I read it seems like he was friends with or helping the veteran that did this. This is a much bigger problem the numbers announced by the VA for 2010 every day 22 veterans end their life.

I know I'm late on this thread but Damn, that really sucks. A man who did great things paid the ultimate sacrifice in his own country. America not only lost a hero but lost a man who will always be known as a legend in the US military

This is a huge loss, especially in the Sniper community, he was one of the best, and an all around great guy. Such a shame!!
