With the recent release of the first ViDoc for Bungie's Destiny game, we now have two MMO-like persistent-world FPS games coming out soon(ish) - the other being Defiance. I don't think I'll be getting both. Some notable things:

Possible cross-platform play on Destiny. Defiance's cross-platform play was, unfortunately nixed. I wouldn't count on it, though.

April 2013 release for Defiance, sometime in 2014 for Destiny.

Defiance integration with TV show; Destiny interfaces with mobile apps and websites.

Trion Worlds (Rift) is producing Defiance, Bungie (HALO) is producing Destiny, in association with Activision. This being Bungie's first in-house project since splitting off from Microsoft, it should be highly anticipated.

So if you had to choose one, which one would you get? And why?

Absolutely Destiny. Bungie > Trion, next gen > this gen. And Bungie > Trion.

Agreed, Destiny. Not a fan of Street Fighter type games.

Bungie is who really brought me to xbox with their game Halo. I can't see Destiny being a disappointment. I'll def get this game

I'm definitely going with destiny

Ps: destiny was shown in an issue of game informer magazine with kickass screen shots last year

I don't know. All I remember hearing was rumors of something big post-HALO. I never saw concept art, details, or dates.

Another old one

Leaked details about Bungie's first post-Halo release have been circulating (https://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/11/27/details-on-bungie-39-s-next-game-leak-online.aspx) over the past few days, but the studio has been planting seeds about the game for several years. An eagle-eyed Halo 3: ODST player noticed what looked like a reference to the upcoming game, and it was confirmed by a member of that game's development team.Twitter user Ryan Butler (https://twitter.com/Rhyd1z3L_) sent Vic Deleon (https://twitter.com/vicdeleon) a link to the above image, asking the environmental artist why exactly Destiny's planet and close-orbiting moon image was featured in an in-game sign.
Deleon responded with the tweet below.

There you have it. Perhaps this will inspire people to stop and read the signage more often. You never know what you may find.

I always flip through every issue I get in the mail and tried to make a mental note of it but last year there wasn't much information on it except the concept art that I saw which I found to be nothing but awesome and leaving me to want to play it

Now I do remember. There were ads for it in the game! But it's been so long I forgot.
