I know for me that changing to a 24 inch HD Monitor (Mine is a ViewSonic, LED, 1080p, Full HD Monitor) Made a world on difference and totally improved my game.
The other thing is the Scuff Controller. That totally changed my game for the better. These are quite costly but if you don't get the SCUF FPS Competition, without the Domed AIM Stick & Domed Left Stick, skip the removal of the rumble packs (you could remove those yourself), Keep the standard color for the buttons, you don't need the SCUF Protection Case (although I have one and it is pretty cool) and standard black D-Pad...you could get one for about $103.00. That's not bad at all.
The other thing I have that I believe helps a TON is the Kontrol Freek's. They really help my hands to relax and not hurt after 3 to 5 hours straight playing. The FPS Freek's are only $9.99. They are cheap enough to give them a try.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it :-)

I played on my 42 inch TV and when I switched to a 22 Inch Monitor my game improved. It has to do with the amount of space your eyes and brain have to process at one time.
To help with the smaller size I use Some Gunnar Glasses. I don't need them but will use them when my eyes get tired.

I see a big difference when playing on a smaller display. I prefer FPS on a 32in or smaller. I am fine on much larger when playing games like Forza or other auto racing titles.

That's cute Doc. Lol jk. When I switched from my 32" to my 50" my K/D dropped around .25 I usually sit around 1.6 -1.5 BLOPs 2 I have a 1.3. It could be the game or any combination of things. I won't ever go back though cause the single player games are much better on the 50".

It is a fact playing COD on a smaller monitor will help you play better. I use the Asus 23 inch with HDMI, and built in speakers. It's the monitor that MLG uses in there competitions. I like it also because it has a flat, non glare screen. A regular TV has a glass screen which reflect all the light in the room and you can see your own reflection in it. It's destructing when your gaming. Using a computer monitor eliminates that all together. Try it out Rob, I bet your KD goes up!! Lol

I brought home from work one of my 24 inch LG screens. I need to snag a hdmi switcher tomorrow so I don't have to keep moving a cable. I have a bunch of HDMI cables. I buy thru my work( school district) and get awesome strong cables for cheap.

I play on a 15.5" screen and still play horribly lol. My average connection speed of <1mb may also be a factor though

yeah, could be the speed, but seems my 33 meg seems to do the same
so after a few rounds I got used to the smaller screen, and while doing so saw a difference of faster reaction time.
I went 29/22 and won an overtime CTF against the Cali clan with randoms
then I went 5/1 but mainly was clearing traps for my runners from the ICB clan, they invited me liked my teamwork effort.
So the hard part was not leaning into it like I do the big screen lol.

I have a 46" samsung lcd led tv, a standard controller, and shitty internet, but I play pretty good. I've played with you all, you guys can witness that. I'm not saying a smaller tv doesn't help, cause yes I have heard from several sources that it does improve some peoples game. Just like playing with a wired controller gets rid of a slight delay that the wireless controller sometimes have.

I suck so any help I will take. Haha.

Agreed. I used the old PS3 earpiece for awhile. Going to the Turtle Beach enclose headset made a huge difference. There are some freaky sounds coming out of those things playing Dead Space 3

Does anyone notice the ringing of the bike bell when you run by it on grind or the horse noise in the background when you first start off in standoff by the stable? You don't hear those sounds without a good headset lol
Yeah, there are ambient noises in a lot of places in the game.

I did leave out My Headset and my Gunnar Glasses.
I have both Astro A40's and Turtle Beach X11 Headset. The X11's are wired so I ordered a set of the Astor A40's when they were HOT. I didn't see a difference in them at all and would recommend to anyone, Buy a set of the Turtle Beaches, they cost a LOT less and are only minimally less comfortable.
I also Won a Set of the Black Ops 2 Turtle Beaches and use them as my primary set. They have BlueTooth Technology so when my phone rings I can take a call on them while I play the game. That is Bad Ass.
I also love my Gunnar's. They really do keep my eye's from getting tired.
I too have a Razer Game Controller. I really hated it. I just couldn't get used to using it. So I switched to the Scuf Controller. I love my Scuf Controller.
In fact, if anyone cares to have my Razer Controller, I'd be happy to send them as long as the shipping is cheap. It's a Razer Onza.
http://www.razerzone.com/au-en/gaming-controllers/razer-onza - They go for $59.99 but I'd be happy to donate them to someone.
I guess to make it fair, send me a PM and I'll have my son randomly select someone. I'll post who get's it tomorrow around 4:30 PM CST.

All this talk about a scuff controller, makes me want to get one BUT I'm afraid that I'm going to break my left joystick due to pushing down on it all the time to run. The one on my controller is starting to wear out. It would be a waste of money to get one and then it break on me.

You could send them one and have them convert it to a Scuf. That is way cheaper. About $80 with shipping. You could take off another $15 if you remove the Scuf Grip from the rear shield. That's only $65.

The sticks seem really durable. I know there's a warranty not sure it covers that. But it is easy to take parts of another controller and replace em in a damaged one.

On the scuff controller, which paddle is A and which is B? I raged and the right handle of my remote. Now its time to get a new controller
You choose which you want left or right to be a or b or other buttons. I sat and mimicked what would seem comfortable for my left hand to be the jump or a button. It's a matter of personal choice. I sometimes still forget and push a anyways .

You really only need the paddles. The rest is just nice. The paddles are all that matter. I use left as jump and right as knife / tactical.
