Does anyone know of a wireless router where the wireless doesn't keep turning on and off constantly after 2 months

I am a firm believer in any router that the OEM firmware can flashed with dd-wrt is a winner. I have purchased 2, yes 2, routers in the last 8-10 years. Both have been Linksys WRT54G series bought secondhand. The first a WRT54G and the second a WRT54GS. You can usually snag one from Craigslist pretty cheap. If you decide you want to play around with customer firmware, check the database before you buy. There are sometimes changes made on the same model line that makes the device not compatible with the customer firmware installs. http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database

Net gear wndr3400v2 and apparently after I got a wireless extender today and connected it the issue stopped so far

What did you end up getting?

Ubiquiti Networks, Inc. (http://www.ubnt.com/) http://www.ubnt.com/
I have used many of their Access points, repeaters/extenders and always been happy with them. Many of their lower/mid level equipment is SUPER powerful.

Its a netgear one so since the signal got a helping hand for devices further from my room the disconnecting issues stopped. That's to weird can't wait till the 802.11 AC/ad routers and wifi cards are cheap and available for my laptop

No shit. I was at Best Buy and saw the ASUS 802.11ac for $229 and then the damn USB adapters for these were another $95-$150 dollars.

I'm a fan of dLink and there gamer series I have a DGL-4500 works awesome and I just got wind of the DGL-5500 which I will be getting once it comes out..

Yes but ac is too new to make any difference.... ask me at the end of the year that might be different answer .. maybe once more and more start switch to broadcast in ac but right now not many do

Yup has an ir blaster also and a eight you quad core CPU also depending on what region you get it from

The Unifi lineup, from what I have been told, as I have no experience with them, is a pretty good setup. I have used the airMAX pico and nano stations, which I really like
