Few things I noticed.
You pick up keys as random drops (it's the x/75 on the HUD). Highly recommend you trade these for lockboxes to get weapons. Landed a few blues and a purple so far and more importantly, they were grenade launchers and a rocket launcher.
Shooting turrets with a rocket launcher causes them to get an ! over them and allows you to bypass without getting aced.
Ammo is linked for SMG, LMG, and Assault rifle, so make sure your load out only has one of these. In other words, if you have SMG and LMG as your secondary, when you run out of ammo on one, you run out on the other.
Whatever you have equipped is the ammo that gets dropped from mobs as well.
The combat roll is a necessity.
You trade items with players by finding them in the quick menu, but not all items can be traded. Only drops I think.

I'm still learning the in's and out's too. If you complete pursuits you'll earn ego rank faster.

Yeah, Ego confuses the hell out of me. I see the XP bar at the bottom, but you can go up in Ego rank without capping the bar. I just don't get it. I'm at 150 Ego right now and couldn't tell you how I got there other than completing quests and killin stuff.

Also I've earned EGO just by passing thru an area where other Ark Hunters completed a quest....bam, instant reward, no effort.

I got some for falling a total of 1km and driving 50km. Completing those "pursuits" seems to be a quick way up.

I'm almost to 400...but I've discovered Game of Thrones and am burning thru the episodes to catch up

I still have some catching up to do with you all. I haven't been able to play much. I think I noticed being around 150 last night before I got kicked.

With just my rifle 379 damage I was doing 500 to 600 per round, then when I used overcharge the number jumped to 700-850 per round. When I wasn't killing anything last night, I asked around in game today. It turned out, that there were some server stability issues last night lol.

I do have a 360, and I was just advising the ps3 isn't the ones having problems....
I'm cunfused...am I not allowed to post in ps3 threads because I do have a 360, or because somehow you thought I didn't have a 360 and was posting in here aimlessly?

That explains why the shotgun and SMG were the main weapons I was having success with

I was doing some digging about the lockboxes and found that it's better to get the lvl 3 ones since the drop rate for those for legendary items is 2.2:1

Has anyone actually done the Hotshot events? The only one I have attempted was the Reservoir Chickens in Madera and failed miserably. I do realize my reflexes are a bit slower with the feel good pills, but have even gone in and adjusted the sensitivity on the controller, but still can't do it.

I don't think this is in no way as confusing as DUST I tried it and liked it, buy way too much behind the.scenes.work configuring everything.
I have to be up early for surgery, so not sure if I will make it on tonight.

So I'm not sure if this is posted somewhere else but, last night was playing with some if you and was talking to havok about weapon progression. So here it is. Once a weapon you are using maxes out its experience points (the white bar when looking at your inventory) it no longer let's you lvl up that type of weapon in your skills menu. So keep an eye on your weapons and switch them out to continue to build your ego. Hope that helps I'd you didn't know.
Hope they fix the Comms issues soon...
Also learned that there is a "Plum Crazy" version of the Challenger running around!!! WHAT?!

Yeah there is also a white version. Apparently to get them is luck based. They show up in random vendors as a special purchase. That's why I spent like 2 hours yesterday going from vendor to vendor trying to find one. They also have a black dune buggy and different skin quads. The plum crazy skin is sweet though.

Yeah I don't know what the problem is cuts I can hear everyone in the group for about 5 min then I can't hear anything but apparently i can be heard very annoying. That's one of the reasons I applied was so that I would have people to talk to. My recommendation though is to get a wireless/Bluetooth keyboard so you can at least text chat in game thats what I've been doing but not sure if its going through because no one really replies. I assumes that's because the virtual keyboard sucks to type on.

I have caught myself typing more in game than with any other game that I have ever played. We'll have to check the capacity on our VENT server. I think someone just set up a new Vent or TS server the other day when we were in game and having so many issues with comms. I'll wait for them to post the info. One of our newest memebers, MyReality, mentioned that he had a 30man TeamSpeak 3 server as well, so maybe he would let us use it??
If there is not going to be a patch soon to fix the comm issues, we do need an alternative way to communicate in game.

Voice chat is obviously better and if we were on a vent or TS server it would be cool customer then you could still chat even if you were solo but I don't necessarily have a computer in my living room by my PS3 and I'm pretty sure my wife won't be letting me move one in there but you never know.

Hey man i was having the same problem . The server name is actually what you want to name the server. The host name is where you put in the usmg.typefrag.com and the port number is the 51995 hope this helps

Restarted the main story line this morning. The quest rewards are now random weapons crates so far. It looks like you get the same xp and scrip but instead of predefined weapon rewards they are all random of course I've only done 3 quests so it may change.

No man once you finish the main story arc you can replay from the beginning with that same character. The restart point is in Mt. Tam where you first come out of the starting area. There will be a marker on the map once you finish it the first time. It came out with the patch.

It still seems that at random times I lose all sound and have to restart the game for it to come back. I have noticed it happening when coming out of coop and Shadow Wars

That's something we will have to keep an eye on, is anyone else is running into that same problem?

Lol I'm ego 1259ish and I still avoid dark matter random encounters when I can they don't get easier. I haven't had any comm issues since the patch but I noticed that the actual game sound goes out now. Its weird one second I'll be playing listening to my gun fire then there will be no sound for a few minutes then the volume comes back and all is good, don't know what the issue could be.

Patch 1.013 - Final Patch Notes
Below are the patch notes for 1.013 that will be deployed to PC, Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3 US & EU servers on May 2nd.
Patch 1.013 Notes:
- Freight Yard competitive map is back!
- New World Thugs data recorder has been fixed to always work regardless of your level
- Old Friends, Old Swords: Added failsafe to fix situations where the mission does not advance
- Project Aegis, Part 1: Set the turrets to disable 15 seconds after combat has been complete
- Project Aegis, Part 1: Fixed the issue where some enemies were spawning without using a spawn vehicle
- Increased the times and locations of the emergency necessary to fulfill the "Svushinnira: Just Business" contract
- Lowered the minimum level required to gain access to Contracts from 250 to 175
- Removed one of the runners from the Mount Tam crash site to improve driving paths
- Vehicle stats will no longer show up as zero in the vendor buy screen
- Weapons that require an EGO Rating of less than 250 have been added to Faction vendors
- Lowered the minimum level requirement for the Soleptor Excavation co-op map to 100
- Lowered the minimum level requirement for the Island of Lost Soldiers to 150
- Lowered the minimum level requirement for the Scrapworks Salvage to 225

The contract 'Svushinnira: Thinning the Herd' in Paradise Territory will not be available until the Most Wanted contest (http://www.defiance.com/en/most-wanted/) has been completed. This means that the 'Episode: Svushinnira' pursuit 'Unconventional Methods' cannot be completed until the week after the Most Wanted contest has concluded. The Most Wanted contract in Paradise Territory will continue to remain active until that time.
