It's how much radiation you've absorbed. you generally want to keep your rads as low as possible, once you hit 1000 you're dead. Rad away and Rad-x are helpful items for reducing rads if you've absorbed too much. They're hard to avoid in the wasteland though so don't worry if you start to build up a few, even helpful items like Nuka-cola also increase your rad level

Hmmm...I might have to look into it then. I think the system I was looking at building I had a case about $190 selected. I've been looking into the closed cooling systems as well.
