Wisconsin Veteran Must Remove Flag After Memorial Day

An Army veteran in Wisconsin will be allowed to display an American flag until Memorial Day, but the symbol honoring his service in Iraq and Kosovo must come down next Tuesday, his wife told FoxNews.com.

Dawn Price, 27, of Oshkosh, Wis., said she received a call from officials at Midwest Realty Management early Wednesday indicating that she and her husband, Charlie, would be allowed to continue flying the American flag they've had in their window for months through the holiday weekend. The couple had previously been told they had to remove the flag by Saturday or face eviction due to a company policy that bans the display of flags, banners and political or religious materials.

However, I must do this for two reasons.
1. My apartment complex has a similar rule.
2. This is not that the management company is against the display of our beautiful "Ol' Glory"

They cannot condone any flags to be flown (Stars and Stripes included) simplybecause of who it will/could offend. Imagine, if you will, what if you were living in your apartment and your neighbor was displaying an Iraqi flag, not that all or any of you might be offended. The possibility does remain that somebody might be offended, therefore the management has to make these policies. And, because of all the Equal Rights we have to observe, the American Flag does get included into that. Trust me, I am as upset about this as any one of you, the American Flag should be excluded from this rule. WE ARE IN AMERICA!!!

Just made a call to the realty management company and they have already changed their policy to allow flags to be displayed in windows. :D It is amazing how fast they are in making a change to an absurd policy when they get veterans calling and giving them shit for it!

I agree with timmy, it is America, and everyone has equal rights, so that policy does make sense. I wouldn't want someone with an American flag with shit smeared all over it in sight of view for me, and if you discriminate against 1 flag, you gotta do it to all of them. That's just the American way I guess...

On that note, I have been hearing rumor's that the Federal Gov't is trying to ban Veterans With T.B.I.'s from owning guns..... Of any kind. I feel very appreciated hearing stuff like that. :?

If they cant condone "Ol Glory" and they are a business in the US, then you need to move out of those apartments and they need get the FUCK out of my country!! I will Gladly show their Asses to the door. I apologize for the Language but this is what our Country is coming too. @squidfamily, I got a Traumatic Brain Injury while I was in Iraq, I was hit by a road-side bomb. The T.B.I. caused permanent brain damage to my frontal lobes and part of left side of my brain. The gov't, according to this rumor, is deming it unsafe for me or any other vet with this, to own a gun of any type. I think it is bull-shit, because I am still as safe, err, no more dangerous with a handgun/rifle than i was before the T.B.I.
