Looking for an unbiased opinion

Ok gang, I have never been much of a FPS online kinda guy....mainly because I'm not the greatest and I despise little 10 year olds laughing at me and talking smack online.....makes me want to punch a kitten. That being said I'm looking to play. I have both the PS3 and XBOX and love them both equally...they each have their faults. Which version do you think provides the better experience or is it merely personal taste (or available console)

I think its totally personal opinion. There are a few things that are nicer-PS3 has better menus and customization, but Xbox Love parties make voice chat so much easier. Also, the button configuration on the 360 makes using the D-pad easier when you're walking around with the left stick.

I agree it's a matter of opinion. For me personally I like the the controls for FPS on Xbox over PS3. It just works better for me

I own it for both consoles. By nature, I gravitate to the PS3 90% of the time.

I'll stick by my philosophy... generally the XBOX is much more multiplayer friendly where the PS3 has a slight better graphic setup and menu. For FPS's my unbiased opinion would be XBOX. Given that I was a hardcore PS guy in the past. Games like Black and Halo turned me onto FPSs and I have never looked back. I will say once the remastered FFX drops I may have to pick up a PS3/4

The Xbox is best for multiplayer and the controller feels best for it too. I like my PS3 but it doesn't cut it for MP.

I went with PS3 a couple of years ago first cause of bluray and better 3d gaming, now I play 360 more cause we have more people on it and the kinect with the kids.

Thanks for all of the input guys, I really appreciate it. I'm still tossing up between the two but I'm leaning more to the XBOX I think. I wish to god they would make online gaming free on the damn thing though. Looks like I'll probably be dropping another $60 for the gold subscription. IMO, it's worth it, and a lot of Xbox players will say the same thing. It just has a better experience online. Is it worth the money? Who knows, but I like it.

Security wise, as far as i know, XOBX has PS3 beat. now on that one, i dont know if anyone has even tried to hack XBOX live like they did the PSN so im not sure on that. lets see, internet wise i think that the PS3 has the XBOX beat. better connections, more connection capabilities. network wise i think that the XBOX beats the PS3. while yes you do have to pay for live, you are paying for better servers with far higher server caps, which leads to more online matches for games and more opportunities to either get your ass kicked, or kick some ass. lets see, controller wise, that really is personal preference, some prefer the XBOX, some prefer the PS, its up to you. as far as interfaces in the main menu goes, again, personal preference, i prefer the XBOX myself, while others like the PS3 layout. but in the long run, it is all up to you to act on the info you have and make the decision, personal preference rules the day ultimately, personally, i prefer neither, i prefer the computer myself, but thats me

That was a lot of good points, my ps3 wifi is not as good as the Xbox one, I get loading screens a lot while streaming.

oh, just thought of somethin i forgot to touch on, game selection. as far as shooters goes, XBOX has got a far larger selection of shooters. now that being said, most of the main shooters are on the PS3 as well, however, some aren't on both sides. PS3 for example, has the killzone series, where XBOX has the halo series. just the first 2 examples that popped into my head. now for racing and RPG type games, you want the PS3, has numerous games that are not available on the 360, such as the tales series (aside from tales of vesperia) and the FF series (aside from 13 and 13-2) those are the only 3 games in both series combined on the 360, now mind you those are also absolutely frickin massive series, with multiple offshoots and time spanning games

I'd argue the internet point somewhat. While PS3 trumps hands down with the browser, the app selection MS has is easily on par with, if not slightly better than, PS3's.

Another issue would be game choice, and who do you play with? If its USMG, then get an xbox for CoD and most of the shorter term games......Ghost Recon, MoH, etc. BF3 has, last I heard, good numbers on both sides.

And remember that a new console is rolling out this holiday season, most likely, so you've only got one, maybe two years of major releases left.

If listening to kids talk shit is what you hate then you should go with the Xbox. The PS3 is free online and has way more kids gaming on it than Xbox. You will still hear a few kids on Xbox but will mostly be dealing with asshole adults! Lol!!
