Here's a question I know 99% of you will have an opinion on. Out of habit I have always gone to msn to catch up on what's happening outside my gaming world. At times it can be a frustrating site.
What do you use ? A site or an app. I know many news sites these days are biased, is there one that's not?
Please no arguing on views. I will ask the admins to remove the topic if it derails.

Depends...if I'm on my phone or ipad I use Pulse...great customizable app that lets you choose what you want to see. If I'm on my computer I just surf between news sites

As far as unbiased major news outlets, they simply don't exist. Maybe BBC?
I catch a lot of Fox news because of the parents, and while I don't agree with everything they say, they've beeb right more often than not lately.

I usually use Fox, because while they're biased, I'd say they're biased less than MSN, CBS, and ABC. Of course, they're biased the opposite way. But yeah, nothing unbiased exists. And a lot of the third-party "news" sites end up just being a mukraking agenda-driven mess or opinionated drivel. I really don't know what the solution is
Yeah that's part of why I asked. I always feel its more opinion than fact on all those sites. I will check the BBC, pulse app and I should check Fox more. I kinda have been liking Google lately. My views are all over the place and I am more i don't care these days due to getting burned out on BS I see everyday. Maybe I can find an app that pulls from multiple sites.

I'm not much of a news guy, so I usually hit yahoo for updates. It's an easy page to navigate quickly.

There are a number of news aggregators out there. That's probably what you want. And it depends on what you're looking at. Political news is the most charged, while event reporting is (mostly) unbiased, and gaming news isn't really at all (but then again, you probably go to a gaming news site for those).

I agree with you here Sgt.
I watch FOX almost exclusively, however I am mindful of the News vs Opinion slots on there. Back in the 90's CNN had better information than our intel guys. Now like many others they just give a slant, push an agenda and say they are unbiased.

Yahoo, CNN isn't to bad. Cnet & gizmodo are a must. Lifehacker and kotaku round out the usual daily reading.

The biggest thing I do is to check multiple sources...all of them have their own agendas....remember they are still a business

Yeah the colbert report is hilarious! And you usually do get a little truth from it too

I personally use GoogleNews and FluentNews, although Fluent is shutting down. I prefer an aggregator because it tends to give me access to point/counter-point reporting on the same issue. For instance I can see what Fox News and the New York Times are saying about the same thing (which is always amusingly different).

I like The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report is funny, but with less actual news and more satire.
I've found it's really hard to trust any source, so as long as you know the general agenda of the source, you can piece together a rough truth by accessing the same story through multiple sources. It's hard though to know what is what these days.

A highly undervalued news outlet in my opinion always provides cutting edge information with up to the minute news lol
