Xbox connection problems.

I've been trying to connect to xbox live now for 3 days without any success. I was thinking it was my ethernet cable so I went and bought a new one but still no luck. So I was thinking it was the port...but it is picking up the cable so that can't be it. By a coincidence all the trouble started when I changed my xbox live ID the other day. But surely that can't have been the cause. I'm getting very pissed off.

I agree, but first try logging into your account online.... I had this problem when my account was hijacked... If you can log in with no problems ... contact support, but pack a lunch if you want to talk to someone live.

I was using Internet Connection Sharing to connect from my laptop to my xbox by an ethernet cable. I tried it through my router and it works fine that way. Only problem is what to do with all the cables everywhere....I just know I'll trip over them and break my neck.

Not sure if you're having the same problem as I did but when my internet provider detected more than one IP address on my connection. They shut it down to were only one IP address could be used at a time.

Once I called and said that their are multiple devices being used, they made it possible so that I could use all my devices at any given time.
