They pull you to a separate screening area, my dad is a double ampute below both knees. It's fun flying with him nowadays.

With my back pain and peripheral neuropathy from diabetes, I simply can't handle the walking involved with air travel anymore and decided to request a wheel chair on my last trip. Whisked to the front of the line. The guy pushing me had to remove his shoes and get scanned too and they wanded the chair. I stood up and went through the scanner, but they offered "alternative" screening. That suggestion made me a little nervous. :)

You just request it when you buy your ticket. It's my understanding they can't deny you, or make you prove you need it. Part of ADA. You also get on the plane first. When I flew Delta, the gate agents actually called my name and asked me to board before anybody else. It was actually kind of embarrassing since it was the first time.

This is absolutely absurd! I can understand and do agree that even though we are Veterans and Active Duty members, we are not exempt from having to go through these screening processes. That in no way justifies TSA from making this guy go through all of that ridiculous garbage. We all have our injuries and ailments, some of us have pins and screws that are the only thing holding bones together, we should not have to perform outside of our abilities and prove to these spineless worms that we are not "Terrorists", and neither should Civilians. We should at least get SOME preferential treatment we don't have injuries because we bough them at Wal-Mart they are a product of having our bodies beaten and broken fighting for the freedoms of this country, for the freedoms that TSA Agents enjoy and abuse everyday.

I have noticed over the years that TSA is becoming increasingly more ridiculous with their power, and they are starting to abuse their positions toward Civilians and Military alike. If we were to shoot a 40mm Grenade into a house with children because we found "an anomaly" we would still be in prison. Yet the TSA can abuse their power and embarrass and belittle people in public and it is completely acceptable.

I was going through an airport in my Class-A's and I was stopped and had to take my jacket, shirt, and shoes off because they "needed" to do additional screening. I was livid and about beat the dweeb that was standing there with my shoe, the heel on those dress shoes hurt like hell when you are hit with them.

Ok, rant over, who has a Tylenol. (But only in an approved amount for Air-Travel)

I actually made it all the way onto a plane with a ticket that wasn't in my name after a screw up at the ticket counter. This was after having my ticket and ID check THREE TIMES before I got to the plane. And, they've never secured the backend. As long as baggage guys are getting arrested for smuggling drugs, someone can put a bomb on a plane, or anything else.

I have 18 screws and a 18 in Cobra plate making up my left hip joint just to clarify. I would be stoked would your traveler be able to go to the front with you or no? What happens when you buy them online?

That's the truth. I knew a kid who's cousin was a baggage handler. He stole a basketball jersey from a Providence College player. That night he played a televised game wearing a jersey with no name on it. That's pretty embarrassing.

Pit kills me tat this has yet to be addressed. It's all for show...yeah they catch stuff, but it's all posturing and given the illusion of security. We had a guy recently go through with live ammo that was never caught.

I buy my tickets online, and there is normally a "special requests" section where you put it in. And, yes on the traveller. My wife followed right behind me to the front.

They are also spineless because they won't "profile". They don't look for signs and subtle clues, but instead are just taught to randomly pick people in order to "scare" the terrorist. TSA is really nothing more then a bad joke. charging the tax payers millio.ns a year to hire the lowest qualified personnel with no people skills in order to pocket as much money as possible. And unfortunately many military members (even in full class bravo uniform as I was) get singled out "randomly" for the fact that I had a one way ticket. Yet so many nefarious individuals are missed routinely. So sad.
