So my son today decide to launch my wife's laptop on the ground and it looks now as if the screen is bustee internally (no cracks) just all fuckered up. Anyways its a Toshiba Satellite laptop and I'm basically curious as to what I can do. Is it possible to just get a new screen when it comes to laptops? I don't want her to lose everything on her computer. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you can buy replacement screens (here's one, from Amazon, without knowing exactly what model you need: http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Satellite-C655-S5512-Laptop-Replacement/dp/B008C4U592 (they have others))
Does it boot up though? Replacing a screen is doable, but if the hard drive is scratched, or the motherboard or processor is damaged it won't work regardless. Did you try connecting an external display?
As long as it's the screen you are golden. Due to deployments and a wife I've had to replace the screen in my Asus 3 or 4 times now.

Yes, try to connect an external display first to make sure it all works. If you replace the LCD, there are nice guides here http://www.ifixit.com/Device/Toshiba_Laptop
