I just logged into battlelog on my iPad and seen the Commander app is live! Is anyone using it already? It's about 450mb download.

I downloaded it and was commander for some games that Lexprime was in. I have to say, it's freaking sweet! Much better than doing it on the console. I was getting 3k-4k in points too!

Nice I played 2-3 rounds on my iPad while waiting for the wife to do various crap while we were watching a movie. I'm having trouble getting HVT to work, only got it once soya be I'm doing something wrong. I did get PROMOOOOOOOTED! Is there a way to communicate to the squads? I might have to find a commander tutorial or something to help get my scores up.

Swet. I hope there is a way to communicate with the teams on the app. Were you able to hear any in game voip? Team chatter?

Yeah I haven't got VoIP to work in regular games. Apparently you hold L-Alt to speak, but I never heard anyone talking back.!

It ask if you want to turn the mic on when you launch the app the first time. I haven't tested it yet.

I noticed no matter how many point or kills I got as a Commander my skill rating would drop 20+ per match. anyone else notice this?

Bottom right corner, hold down that little button that looks like a speaker to talk to the squads

Yeah I just got 8k and was all excited! So far I've only lost 1 game as commander. Division 1 for commander points....oooohhhhh yeah

Just gave it a go as well. Pretty neat with awards and match bonus got 23k towards my player without even logging in the Xbox. Only downside was it was a 45 min Obliteration match

I keep getting stuck with teams that are all hero players and maybe 3 people in a functional squad until half of them quit since they can't hold an objective. Still fun for some quick maps.

EA never ceases to piss me off, why in hell would they not bring out an Android version with the iOS? I mean really with the Android tablets being allot cheaper and in my case allot better than iPads, why only bring in one app and leave the other to be released until the end of the month? This is just stupid on their part again, first no clan support, then the shitty game that they released, and now this.

Or you can just come to the dark side and buy Apple. Lol. But for real even though I'm an iOS guy I understand your point. You are cutting a good portion of your audience out of the loop by not releasing for both devices

I don't think that's true...not with the restrictions I've seen Apple impose. And I've definitely heard developers (especially at my company, but also online) say the opposite.

Apple does have quality restrictions, but I've yet to see any developer say that its harder to develop an app that works on the 12 or so Apple devices, versus the 12,000+ Droid devices. Quite the opposite. There's a reason this is a common market trend.

Ah...you made it around like iOS was easier. From everyone that I've talked to, Android is much easier to code for, get stuff to work, etc, but the multiple formats is a concern.

I love the app for when I need to spend some quality time on the couch with my lady, have a smoke break, can't join friends playing cause the server is full, or using the shit bucket (aka toilet). My only complaints so far is that when I try to join friends their server doesn't pop up, I get an error saying I need to be logged in to BF4 on my xbox to join friends, and I haven't figured out how to get the VOIP to work (which isn't a big deal my headset is wireless). Overall I really like it and glad it's on iPads only cause if it was on my phone I would be less productive at work lol.

VOIP will only be available on PC and PS4, maybe XBONE also but doesnt become active until the 19th....from what I hear.

My guess would be that the time it takes to complete the quality control is significantly less than ensuring that the 12,000+ droid devices are all functional.

Especially when the quality control measures they enact for ios will cross over in to droid. Because we all know the uproar that would occur if the ios version was better than the droid version.
