Took in my Xbox 360 and games along with my PS3 and games ($350+) to GS and pre-ordered and paid off Destiny, Watch Dogs, The Order 1886, Thief, and picked up Assassin's Creed 4 and the CE Batttlefield guide and kept the rest of the $ for store credit.

Now I am wondering if I did the smart thing or something dumb getting rid of of my old systems.

I would like to hear the others opinions on this as well because I was considering the same approach.

I kind of think it depends on you. For me that is dumb cause my kids could be playing all those and gs I think rips people off. But with no kids if you ate not going to use them anymore than it would be more smart.

Although you might have been able to get more elsewhere.

So in the end it really depends on your situation.

Honestly for awhile it will feel like you messed up because the lack of games but I promise you won't regret it in the long run. In all reality many of us hardly have time to game at all let alone play 2 systems.

If it is only going to collect dust then it's smart to get something out of it. I collect systems so I tend to hold on to one along with my favorite games

You don't have a PS3 or 360 anymore?

So I take it you have one of the next gen consoles?

I'm waiting until I have the xbox one to get rid of the 360 and all of the gear with it

I trade in my games at GS but I decided to sell my 360 on my own. I got almost twice as much was they were offering and it only took me a couple days.

I'm planning on keeping the systems cause I would like to keep all the consoles but as far as for the games.

I'm only going to keep the ones that really kept my attention in playing them.

Such as the CoD and Halo Series.

Any others will be traded in.

Nothing wrong with that. I'd do the same thing.

I don't see it as dumb. If you don't value the older systems and games enough to play them, there's no point in keeping them IMO. You might have been able to get more for the consoles via CL or whatever, but otherwise I don't see anything dumb about what you did.

At first I didn't know you had one of the new gen consoles, and so reading the OP did seem like it was a silly thing to do. But then I figured it was safe to assume you had a new gen already or in the near future and it made better sense.
