Yeah I applied and was denied for disability saying that it was because the VA didn't find me unworkable, but every pice of paper from the VA REGAURDING MY RATING SAID I WAS ELEGIBALE FOR SOCIAL SECURITY!!!

Many reasons for denial. The SSA does not follow the VA's interpretation of 'disabled'. They also look at the last time that you were 'gainfully' employed. If it was within a year they tend to shoot you down.
Some places, like where I live in NC, you will always get denied unless you have a lawyer. And if you get a lawyer, they drag it out, because they get a piece of the pie. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... my advice would be see a lawyer, usually the first consultation is free.

Shop for attorneys that are small firms dont do large ones, also ask how long they have been doing it the shorter time the better because they want to win. In SS disability law your lawyer is free until you win then they take 25% of your back pay. Make sure you appeal in the amount of time you are given if you dont then you have to start all over again. Dont say anything to anybody about adapting or coping with your disability because that will get you denied. Also if you get to the stage where you see a doctor for ss take your attorney with you or ask him what you should say and shouldnt say. Also if you have over $2000 or thats my amount at least, of assets you will be denied. If you sell off over $2000 of assets within 36 months of your application date you can be penalized and be denied pay for 36 months. I just went through all of this man any questions just ask.

It is a lot harder to get SSi, I have no cartilage in my left knee and they are saying 10% to 20% in my right knee, I have had 4 knee surgeries and have Atrial Fibrillation and i was denied for SSI...So if the VA says NO U will have a battle on your hands with the SSI dept.....The problem Bro is we live in Cali!!!! This state is such Bullshit when it comes to this stuff!!...I hope it works out for u, Just thought i would share my experience so u were prepared for the possible fight on your hands with the SSI dept.....
