Battlefield 4 has a certain feature that's MIA from its predecessor, namely the option to squad with friends before diving into multiplayer matches through the lobby. DICE has revealed this feature is unlikely to return.
They have a new way of handling this where "a new squad is created when a friend joins your game." This is on by default but can be switched off. The old method wasn't "on par".


Sorry but your pre-match drinks with the boys in the lobby won't be coming back as the studio has no plans to revive it. They prefer to wristband you instead once you're in.


"We have a new feature in Battlefield where a new squad is created when a friend joins your game. You can toggle this option on or off by going into the options menu. We’re not offering the old squad join feature because we didn’t feel that the feature in Battlefield 3 was on par with the quality that we wanted to offer our players," DICE posted on Facebook.

DICE has just recently apologised for the troubled launch of the shooter which has had numerous server woes and some severe graphical problems on PC.

You can join a friend's lobby, but 95% of the time they are full. I can't even imagine trying to get 5 friends into one lobby unless you go to sever browser and find one with no one in it and hope it populates.

This is total bullshit. The inability to squad up prior to joining a game sucks donkey balls. 99.999999999% of the time I go online and see others in game and attempt to join I get the server full message. I have even gotten invites from those in game and by the time I accept, server is full. The next time we are all on we need to test going in an empty server and send in invites to all those on and once we are all in, wait to see how long it take for the servers to start dropping random blueberries in with us

I for one am disappointed with BF4 so far due to the fact that we can't join up together very easily and they pretty much made it into COD. Its not even worth using vehicles because they have nerfed them so much. Other than a few lucky shots, tanks are generally easily taken out and only good for transportation. I don't see why they are even trying to sell me on premium because what I have no with all of the errors isn't worth it. Pretty disappointing EA, you guys are becoming the new Bethesda of games when it comes to snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory when it comes to games.

Seems like the best form of action. The fact that I have to sit in the "Friends Servers" menu for 15 minutes spamming the a button so I can get in when a spot opens is a little ridiculous. I expected much more from DICE.

We had a good match last night. Kodiak, Goose, jack, Taino67u <AWOL Member> and myself. I suffered the great lockup after I was left alone with jack. I ended up calling it an early night and have a few too many Crown on the rocks

That to me is the worst part . now we have to chat in between the matches instead of before. But we just have to adapt. It always has worked to get in with a friend on PS3 I have a bit more trouble on XBOX but not bad.... It is a bit easier now that some maps are 64 players.

I think I'd rather roll back to a previous BF title, or maybe make use of the ArmAIII title I've barely touched. Or maybe I'd look for something else. It's not that CoD sucks, it's just that I've played plenty of it in the past and am kinda done.

I can't believe BF would betray its own strengths here with the party system as it relates to teamwork, which is supposed to be the crux of the series and what makes it so much fun.... Moronic move to say the least.

And is it just me or is there no queue system on PS3? There was one for BF3 on PS3, right? And they've got queues for BF4 on PC. It's been MUCH less infuriating to squad up on PC so far.

Just played some commander mode. Overall it was fun (playing on my new Dell Android tablet). My soldiers for the most part did what I said, but we got hosed because I think they sucked. And they didn't always cooperate. But if anyone on PC wants to play a game, hut me up!

If u drop a supply crate in and it hits someone or if u hit them with a cruise missile are the two most common. I have gotten a kill when my team took over the point were the C-130 is slotted from... The C-130 blew up and I received a kill and then our gun ship went up.... I have also gotten a few kills when I dropped in vehicles.
