Resume questions

Ok so I get out officially February 28 2015 and am going back to good ol Missouri (god I miss the Midwest) and am running into these questions before I start acaping. When should I start putting my resume together? What are some cheap or free sites for military to do a resume? And when is a good time to post my resume and start looking for jobs? I was looking into mohp but after talking to a recruiter I may not get that chance anytime soon so looking at modot as well as corrections so any help here would be awesome as well as is the post 9/11 more beneficial than the MGIB?

You can officially start ACAPing one year from your ETS date acap has a great resume system I wouldn't bother with any others the things you want to ask is what are your plans once you get out,if you want to go straight back to work if u want a government or civilian sector job because the resume system is set up for civilian sector, and then they have work shops for writing a government resume!! Hope this helps! If you have any other questions I'll be glad to answer them since I went thru all this already!! As a matter of fact you can call me cuz there's a lot more that I can tell you just let me know!

Start getting your resume out asap.

The sooner the better.

Look for jobs now and see how the market is.

Make sure you have something right when you get out before you take the route of being a civilian again.

Trust me, don't be a statistic and get fucked over by not having a job when you get out.

Also, don't ever pay someone to do your resume.

You have a lot of us who can help you out and you can see examples online.

Yeah start asap, think about the leave time if any. Many times the business world takes a month or two to hire anyone these days

Yea like Rob said look now to asses what area u wanna go to... I know u think u know but if u can get a job an hr down the road from were u planned on going maybe u should move there instead. That way u don't have to do it all twice. Also like Rob stated do not pay anyone to make u a resume there are to many of us that can help and also many of us do hiring for companies and we can tell you what we look for on a good resume. What the red flags we look for and so on and so forth. So hit one or get many opinions of what to put on one.... Also tell us were u are going we might just know some that knows someone that needs a GREAT employee. U never know. But I will tell you now days it is more of who u know then what you know..... Yeah great points. Also letters of recommendation before you leave. Get info for references.

Orrrrrrrrrr....if you haven't finished school....Go back.

Use the Post 9/11 bill you have.

Reap the benefits and earn your degree.

Its huge to have a bachelors degree under your belt aaaaaaand to have on your resume

Also search you local, 'Work force solutions' agency .... I think Tentonsledge may be able to give you better guidance here.
