Ghosts London Clan War Begins 1/1/2014

Alright everyone the next clan war begins at 12pmPST on New Years Day. I know this is bad timing for a clan war to start but thats Infinity Ward for you. Incase some of you didn't know yet I have taken over as Commander of the Ghosts clan while Twizted focuses on school. We have performed very well in the last few wars but have come up short due to a number of reasons, but I think our main shortfall has been our strategy. I will use a quote from Bull3tBait on a previous thread that IMHO hits the nail on the head:

"This war and last war we went for the most difficult and time consuming nodes because of the CP value. In both wars, the lead clan got into the lead by hitting the lesser valued targets but targets they were good at and had reasonable expectation to get a lot of wins quickly. The CP value of these targets were worth more combined than the 1 that we were after. By the time we got our 1 they already had several nodes captured, had a commanding lead, and left us with a daunting task and gave them plenty of time to then work on the higher CP nodes while we were trying to negate their wins and re take those "not worth it" nodes."

As we go into this war we will target those nodes we are good at and can take quickly to grab the lead. Those modes at this point seem to be Cranked, Blitz, KC, and TDM. Myself, Angels, Klaws, and KaNtSt0pMeH will set the target as necessary to align the focus of the clan. For those of you who don't have the app we will also post the current target in the forums. There has been some members that have put in some extraordinary amount of hours trying to win these things and I would like to eliminate that constant grinding feeling and keep it to where we still win without having to put in so many late nights trying to play catch up. I ask that if you are on and going to play CoD during that time frame, team up with some other USMG members and help contribute. Remember our motto "It's about the gamer next to you" so have fun, kick some butt, and let's go win this thing. See you all on the battlefield!

Core. For future reference I will use HC in front of a game type to designate it Hard Core. If there isn't a HC in front then it is Core. Hope this helps.

Do you have the Call of Duty app? There's a lot there explaining how it works. Basically there are 4 divisions Bronze through Platinum the higher the division the better the rewards for winning. We can earn patches, a weapon camo, headgear and head customizations and a uniform. There are nodes that correspond to game modes in Ghosts. You capture the nodes by earning wins in those game modes. When you capture a node your clan gets CP points awarded to it. The clan with the most CP at the end wins. There's more to it but that's basically what it is. Participation is key because the more people playing the Target we set the faster we can take the nodes and get the CP points for it. The thing to remember is that there are 7 other clans also trying to take the same nodes.

Don't worry about figuring out everything about this Clan War stuff, I think IW is still working out the "kinks". If you have the app and are on tomorrow, just play whatever the "Target" is, which will be signified by a RED PRIMARY TARGET sign over the game type. If you are on 360 or any other system, please play the same as our One borthers/sisters to ensure we get the nodes ASAP.

I don't think its the app that makes you need the cheaters....:beer:;)

Basically, its a 5 day clan op. You get points each time you win a node. 10 or so nodes, each representing a different game type.

All wins, regardless of console, count. Each node takes a set number of wins. When you win a node, the other clans have to negate your wins to take it. Each capture makes it worth one less point.

For some reason everyone is playing different stuff again!! I was playing Blitz today like the marker said and we had people on the clan list ( no names mentioned tho ) and they were on Ghosts but playing different things..... So after getting my ass handed to me cause I was playing with a kinder garden class as team mates-lol- I switched to DM.....I just don't understand why we can not unit as one community lately like the other ones are doing..... We will never be able to beat a clan that plays as one when we play as singles. Sorry if this sounds negative, i just know we can beat these guys and it is frustrating. Ok I will stop bitching. Especially considering we won the 1st war with around 180CP and that one was 7 days. Fact of the matter is we are outnumbered with active players. Unfortunately that is the truth. They took HC DOM in like 25 minutes. The only way that happens is if you have 40-50 players on playing at the same time. You can't compete against numbers. So let's compete to stay in the top 3 so we get the patch.

I haven't been home today so I wouldn't know but if it's been the target for that long and someone else owns it with max wins..yeah. Currently two other nodes are open and could have become the target to bank wins for a grab later. Not making an excuse, as it wasn't me playing the non target, but common sense plays in this too. No one can monitor a war 24/7. If we take something and the target doesn't change or I'm alone playing in the early morning I use my best judgement. Conversely it could be the people who only play one or two gametypes regardless of the war..that's where I get annoyed.

I would like to say though, that if we wanted to separate the community side from the Clan side, I think there would be a group of personnel (approx 20 or so) that would go for the idea. This being that participation, either K/D or W/L (not strict as others groups), and mandatory "things" would be required. Putting in the time and work is an option that would be good to have and the reward of a gold or red clan tag would be a nice bonus. We are military and we do want to be the best, or all we can be (if that is still the motto?), having the option to compete just seems logical. Have a nice day

I agree with you this is just not a competitive clan. If I wanted to be in one I would be. Third place will just have to do until they adjust the matchmaking. Having fun playing the game is more important to me than anything else. Granted I would like that "suit thing" lol

Not sure when they were defending blitz, but it definitely wasn't last night when I was playing. The problem I ran in to was everyone playing TDM for the bonus xp.

^ this. I've had a small life interruption but have been keeping up with what's going on in the app. I noticed that every time the blitz score came down a little next time I would check it would be up more than the required amount. Clearly defending.

I'll be playing tonight and tomorrow (unless the family news I'm waiting for prompts a trip into Pgh)

I was having difficulty with my party chat while on. It just cycles endlessly and then tells me it can't turn on party chat and to try later. I tried in between every match

Well I guess the ones of us that ground it out for the past 4 days was for not.... With a few hrs left and now we are 50+ behind, short of a miracle we are done..... Now with that said, thank u to everyone that was down in the trenches standing side by side with me to try and pull a rabbit out of the hat as they say...lol. Even tho some were on there own and some in a party u can look at the news feeds and see who plays with ya.... I just have one last thing to put out there... Even tho we will not get the patch ( and really it was kinda of a goofy looking one anyway ) let's put this war and all its issues behind us.... I can bet in the next few days our captain will have a few words for us, but after that we need to just move on to the next battle, and not just give up because we lost one patch. Let's just focus all of our bitter energy on making the next battle on for the record books and come back and show everyone why we are #1..... Because we can just take our lumps and keep on keeping on!!!!! Remember in all this tho, we need to keep having fun, don't get discouraged and get all upset and turn our good fun time into a stress mess.... Good questions .....
1, yes you should play with more then yourself because if you win then we get 5 ,6,7 points depending on how many in lobby instead of 1 point because u were solo. . also when u run with your clan u can communicate with each other and u get to know there play styles so u can read off each other and do better over time.... Also u know they have your back instead of randoms which most of the time are out for themselves. ....
2, there is two ways u can tell the target.....The first is we use the COD Ghosts app on our phones and it has the target highlighted in red, the other way is who ever put the target will add it to this chat link in our forum...
3,yes it does count but we have strategically put up the best game plan for our squad so if u are on we ask that u play the target marked so we can get the best bang out of your points u earn...

I guess there is not, Twisted is able to see it is possible and he can't so it's a nope.... What I do to see who is on, I look in my news feed. It only has your friends list but if we had the commander add everyone who is playing the Wars to his or her list then they could glance thru now and then and see who is playing. Other then that Ironhide it is all on the "Honest Program" if u are playing the same nodes..

It takes some work and you can see overall activity but not clan wars participation. When I was doing research to try to resize the clan I went to Leaderboards and switched it to clan then lower the it from all time to Monthly and then even lower to weekly. This war started on the 1st so you would see who played at all. That's about all you can do and even then it's a lot of work and it is only for that platform as well

So we finished 4th. Not gonna win every one so thanks to all that participated I definitely had some fun with everyone that I was partied up with, and at the end of the day that's what it is all about. Stay tuned for more info regarding the next war, I will put that out once I have it.

I think you can look at leaderboards for a given match type, sort by clan and weekly. It won't tell you how much they actually played... But it can give you a reference. Example is if someone only got 5 tags all week in HCKC. They may have not been playing that mode much. It's not the best way as we all play differently (some people just make tags)and at different skill levels but when you start looking at multiple game types it becomes clear who played more then one or two gametypes. This only works for your system though as the 360, PS3/4 and the one share different leaderboards (assumption based on upgrading to the one during the war and not seeing my previous work reflected). I really only do this when I see the same people playing the non target constantly and then get a party invite..it helps avoid awkwardness.

P.S. This is to be taken with a grain of salt though...I played tons of cranked this war but because I suck at it the leaderboard doesn't reflect the time investment. It does show that I played the targets while I was on though and that's better then nothing.

If possible we should have a team playing the target node and other teams playing HCKC, HCTDM and other game types. again it impossible to play for 4 to 5 day straight. But if we have dedicated teams playing the different game types we should rack up wins if my understanding on how this work is correct.

You are correct. The only downfall is that if you hold that node and you are playing that game type and lose then it subtracts those wins as well. I did some more research and the clan war system is broken. Thats really the only way to put it. I will be putting a post in the PSA thread explaining it all.

this sounds like a great plan but coordinating this would be difficult at the best, especially with everyone being so spread out and playing a different times.

I think this is a good idea and something we should def discuss and elaborate on for the next war.

I'm not sure I agree with locking the PSA thread I thought that it was said that people should share their thoughts on the changes being made. While I may not agree with someone's view I don't advocate silencing a discussion in this way. This is just my opinion and I am well aware of the direction the thread was going.

Agreed with Klaws. We have nothing to hide here. If there is anything we can defuse in this thread its arguments/discussions. Everyone should be entitled to their opinions but should expect wholeheartedly a rebuttal regardless of stance in the clan. The ultimate decision is Brandon's and we should all stand behind him. At this point his solution is in work. Not much different than what we have done in the past. Basically we are trying to avoid people in the clan who do not care about the name USMG and what it is about. If we have to split into 2 squads eventually that is a possible solution but at this point it is easier managing one group than employing a whole other squad of LT. commanders and a leader. We want everyone to be happy but this place isn't Utopia. Not everything done here is perfect by any means but its what we have in place. Let's just see how this next war goes and if we win and the solution works than great if it doesn't than we can keep trying until we have exhausted our options. Notice when we won there wasn't nearly as many issues? To say we don't like to win is silly. We want to win of course... we are Americans (most anyway).

I actually have an idea that could do this but without actually splitting into two. Everyone would stay in the clan. However, I know things have been worked on after this last war so I'll wait and see how these changes work. When/if the time comes to make changes again at least we will have options.

If you have an idea throw it in the PSA thread. I am going to unlock it so you can post it there. The idea behind that thread was for you guys to throw out ideas. If it goes south and gets to hostile I will just lock it again.
