No its separate from robotech especially since there's well over episode movies in Macross compared to robotech had more of a tv show and targeted a different group of people

And also robotech was based off of Macross by harmony gold and no one will get to see any new Macross shows/movies or robotech series because of harmony gold trying to claim the international rights for it and they are the only reason why there isn't anymore Macross based shows here in the states or anywhere else except for japan

I have the complete series on VHS from Macross to Robotech masters then Invid invasion and if that wasn't enough I also have the complete series in paperback. I have a few of the toys too, apparently I was somewhat of a fan in the day.

The entire series was on netflix, but then it was taken down along with lots of other anime as well. The selection is very poor compaired to what it was. I'm talking about the irish netflix service, don't know about the US one.

I would love to take all my old anime, especially the Robotech saga, from VHS and put them DVRs. I was quit pleased to see that Gundam finally made it over and is having success here. 08MS Team is the one I like best.

just watched Robotech Shadow Chronicles, pretty nostalgic and cool. It's basically the return of the Robotech Masters

That series never mentions the supervision army which was the protoculture/robotech masters military but robotech only mentions 2 races that used the flower of life after previous said creators died out and if you watch the whole Macross series you will learn why they died out but the 2 series together does a good job of explaining everything but its better to call them the proto culture because the robotech masters are only a faction
