Alright folks I went in and dropped a bunch of people from the clan today. There was some criteria that went into this, I didn't just go in and clean house. I am not perfect and may have accidentally removed someone that may not have needed to be. If that is the case then let me know and I will personally apologize and re-add you myself. Also everyone that is a member of the clan has the ability to invite people to join the clan from the in-game menu. Please refrain from doing this and allow the adding of members to be done by myself or one of the Lt. Commanders of the clan.
The criteria for drop was as follows:
1. I dropped those that have less than 20 hours played and less than 10 posts in the last 3 months. This is an indication you are not active in the community or in game.
2. I dropped people that have not filled out an application to the community or that I did not recognize them or their username/gamertag. (This is where I could have made a mistake) You must be a member of the community to be in the clan.
3. I dropped people that have more than 20 hours played but have a last activity date with the community greater than 1 year ago. Forum participation is not mandatory but if you haven't even logged into the site in a year you probably aren't playing with members of the community.
4. I kept people that may have slightly less than 20 hours played but are active in the community. Community participation is just as important aspect of our community as being active in game.
Although we are a NON competitive gaming community I would like to fill the Ghosts clan with people that are interested in competing in the clan wars. That is the whole purpose of having the clan for CoD Ghosts. Does this mean you need to participate constantly and put in ridiculous amount of hours, NO. But if during a war you see we are capturing a node you like to play and you have some free time hop on and contribute. We are all adults and have real lives and don't have the time to commit only to gaming like some of the clans we have encountered recently. With that our clan size even after trimming down today is higher than it probably needs to be. We are going against large clans with 70+ active members. Realistically we are not that active to be going against these types of clans. Currently we sit at 56 and after talking with other members of the community we think it that number needs to be less than 50. So do we need to continue trimming, and if so how do we go about that. That is where we are turning it over to you guys the members of the community to decide. A couple of options we see are:
1. Leave it as it is now and continue to grind it out. We are not going to win every war no matter what we do and eventually will get matched against clans that are our level of participation/competition.
2. Allow those that are still in the clan that want no part of participating in clan wars whatsoever voluntarily offer to step out. We will not remove anyone that is a active member of the community, game, or both that wants to be in the clan.
There are definitely more solutions out there and if you have one please throw it out. Our goal is to create a gaming environment that suites everyone while keeping it drama free and having fun. Is it possible to please everyone, absolutely not but at the end of the day we are all mature adults that should be able to find a happy medium that everyone will agree on. Alright everyone the floor is now open….

First! Just kidding. ... I don't have a problem. I do wish we had a roster of clan members on each console and their location. Any way we can do that?
I say this because if we could form Squads based on Location I believe everyone would have a better experience. The connection is way better if people are in the same relative geographical area
Although, It is already difficult to find people after the Console Split...

Similar amounts Mardi. Like Brandon's son's clan of like 15 only has to win like 15-20 games to take a node... which is ridiculously awesome lol

I agree with everything said above... and propose that there be two sects within the COD clan. A "competitive" and noncompetitive. By "competitive" (loose term) I mean those of us that CHOOSE to put the hours in during clan wars and challenges. By volunteering to be in the competitive sect the member will be expected to put in the hours and honor that commitment. Noncompetitive members are playing just for fun and anything positive produced by these members during clan wars is just gravey. I absolutely think we need a roster of platform and geography.

I say we cut folks so we can win these clan wars. You guys can cut me tomorrow as I will be gone for 3 weeks anyways. Everyone who knows me knows I get on at the ass crack of dawn so I'm usually playing by myself so I can only contribute so much. (Meaning nothing bc I need USMG to carry me lol). I'll be on later tonight as we'll see you guys there.

Agreed on most parts. A roster would be awesome but maintenance could be tedious. I think we need to get the roster down to around 30 and this would be accomplished by taking out people that would want to "compete". The roster being slimmer would mean not everyone that plays gets the gold tag of USMG but Clan Wars are to compete against other clans. MW3 clan ops involved competition within the clan, going for the top 6 no matter how many you had in your group. This war involves competing against others as a group which we can and should "shine" on. As stated before in other posts, some of us have had offers to go join other groups that have a bigger participation but it was declined so we could be a group/community. This loyalty is rare these days and I think rewarding this loyalty should be through giving the opportunity to compete and increase the USMG COD value (whatever that is). This opportunity for clan wars will most likely not be here for the next rotation of COD and will severely drop when other games (Titanfall for a BFD example) come out, so making a drastic move like a smaller "competitive" roster would be beneficial for the time being. IMO IAW BYOB.
Although, It is already difficult to find people after the Console Split...
I totally believe this is a issue for clans Wars also, it should be advantage, but most days the most I see on 360 is 4 playing(and thats a good day) Most times its 2, me and another....Grinding things out is one thing, but doing it solo sucks KANT'S moms Balls....J/k

For those people who have problem with being removed from the clan, please post in this forum. You issues will be addressed. If you haven't used the site since you joined, aren't a member of this community, or are just not helping out during the clan wars, partying up with other members or just doing your own thing, you will be removed at this time until we get the clan wars handled. It's not a punishment or anything we all realize that life and shit happens. But those people that do play this game religiously (not me) do deserve the opportunity to have a fighting chance to compete in clan wars.
Feel free to PM me as well. You will find I'm a loveable cuddly teddy bear.

Just putting it out there since it seems we still are non competitive I will play TDM variant game modes this includes TDM KC both Core and HC and Cranked with Bull3t :). I will also play DOM and Blitz but only with a group. I will not play Search game modes or hunted even if they are the target because I don't have fun at all playing them.

That is how it should be. If we need to target a search type game mode or Hunted then those that enjoy that mode should help out if they are available then. We have enough people that play this game to allow that type of flexibility.
If we're non-competitive, there's no point in grinding out hours to compete in a clan war. Even if they're game types you like, it's still a competition. You can't have your cake and eat it too. We either go competitive and grind out the clan wars trying to win, or we "stay" non-competitive and just don't give a shit about them. Simple as that.

Read above comment. No-one is saying that you have to play the types of matches you don't want to. We are a non competitive community, but at the same time we are almost all military, and with that said there is a part of us that when we are presented with a challenge we want to over come it.

Alright everyone I did some more research to try to find a way to help our clan so that the majority is pleased and we can still be somewhat competitive in the war, for those that want to compete. The fact is the clan war system is broken at this point. We can lower our clan down to a 20 or so competitive team and as soon as the war starts one of the teams we go against will add 40 more active players to their roster and we will be in the same situation. The system does not have a filter like MW3 did. In MW3 if you added someone after you enlisted in the op they did not count in that op. In Ghosts if you add someone to the clan including during a war their contribution counts immediately. So it is a tactic that some clans are using. They lower their roster after the war to their core group to get into a smaller size clan war. Then when the war starts they add a bunch of active randoms that will help them during that war win, then boot them after the conclusion of that war as well. So no matter what steps we take the situation ends up being the same. We will continue as we are at this point and hopefully can get the luck of the draw in future wars to not go against some of these clans.
As far as the criteria that I used to clean up the roster the other day that is still in effect. Bottom line is you must apply to the site and be an active member of this community in either game, on the forums, or both to be in the Ghosts clan. During your probationary period you may be part of the Ghosts clan, but if you don't meet the minimum requirements of the community to become a full member you will be removed after your initial probationary period. Thanks again to all that support this great community and we are always open for more suggestions to make the Ghosts clan a better experience for all.

Perhaps I have been operating under the wrong concept. I thought non-competitive community meant we don't do admissions based off of K/D ratio. You can be bad at the game and still be more then welcome here. If your in the actual COD clan the same applies but with more focus towards the clan. It's about the gamer next to you.
I hate some game types that some of you enjoy and during a war I play them because I know people will play the ones I like when it's the target. If people start refusing to play game types during a war, not only are we gimping our chances, we also risk alienating people who love those types. If we all came together on this we would capture things faster.
Or we could stop trying. Half of us grinding games we hate for the good of the clan while watching others play ones we like is both detrimental to morale and skews the numbers ghosts uses to determine clan activity during wars. I'm not hard line either way but I wanted to express how I see this.

Exactly. We are non competitive in the sense we do not dictate our membership based on how good you are. That doesn't necessarily mean we don't like to win. While winning isn't our main goal I have yet to play with who enjoys not winning. We are trying the method out of lessening our numbers and if we have to kick people its okay. Its not end of the world. We'll make due. Everyone who has posted here obviously has nothing to worry about. Let's just get back on track and focus.
We aren't going to force people to play some shit they don't want to play. Especially if someone is going to hate the whole experience. Some people hate every second of cranked but put up with it. But someone should not be ridiculed for not playing a certain game type. I am guilty of bailing during certain game types.
It has been established that we are a non competitive clan. To have more success in future wars we need to move forward understanding this and adjust our strategy accordingly.
Non competitive is non competitive, there is no grey area. Wanting to win and competing are two slightly different things. Everyone wants to win, not everyone wants to compete. The clan wars are competition. A competition between eight clans to see who can grind the most. Winning is as simple as getting 75 kills before your opponent in TDM. Winning 75 times to capture a node before another group is a competition.
Either be non competitive and stop trying in the wars, or be competitive and try to win them. There's plenty of clans that we've gone against that have 0 CP at the end of the war. Are they less active than us or have less members? No, they just don't care because they're non competitive. If that's what we are, why do we care?

Lol it seems as if you are set on this issue. If you feel that way I'm sorry. We have stated it in multiple different ways, we are non-competitive. We want people to participate and help and will not ridicule someone's K/D. There are grey areas for everything. To say gaming is a bureaucracy is silly. We have a solution in place. Let's see how it works. If it doesn't we'll press and try something else. There is not IS or ISN'T in this case. To play video games and want to win makes you a competitive person. To play video games for money makes you competitive but they mean different things. We want to win but is there anything on the line? No.
I'm confused as to why this is such an issue for some people right now. The fix is in place or at least possible solution is. We are over analyzing this ten-fold. Let's be patient wait for the next war and see how we get matched up. Like I said no one here is the problem. We all want to win and we will all put our best foot forward but not at the expense of someone's enjoyment of the game and our community.

Look man I just don't see why we can't still do the clan wars and be non competitive at the same time. We just won't get first place. I like winning as much as the next guy but if I really wanted I'm sure I could just join one of these other Platinum clans that keep sending me invites and get those rewards. This is were I am though and for better or worse it's my clan so I'll deal with it. Anyway when I get too competitive and worry about my stats and winning and stuff it eventually wears me out and I get really negative that's why I took a break on this last war. When I come back to this game I won't bother worrying about that stuff anymore. It's a game that supposed to be fun. So if we get 0 cp or 300 cp in the next war I'm fine with it either way, although I think somewhere in between would be better.

There's absolutely a grey area. This is a game, for fucks sake. There's no reason we can't participate in clan wars, without the mandatory slog.
You're right, though. There are clans that don't participate at all. 0 CP throughout. And then there are clans that require mandatory participation with minimum time requirements per day and strict adherence to a set plan of action.
What I don't understand is your complete and utter certainty that its 100% absolutely impossible to strike a balance between the two. To focus on games people find fun, without the mandatory grind to ensure we're in first place throughout.

Now i'm not one to toot my horn but all this about being competitive and non-competitve should have left this community with that persons name who shall not be spoken again.
With that said, there's no need to argue and there's not need to bicker about how this community is ran.
If those who don't like what's going on with the way things are ran in our community, by all means move to another clan that cares about the things you care about.
We've established this many times and it seems many still don't understand.
We are all grown adults (at least some of us) and if your not satisfied with what we have established, we won't get butt hurt if you decide to leave the clan but maintain a presence on the forum.
We are also here to play games with one another and enjoy that time spent playing those games.
Again, this should be a dead topic and I don't understand why this topic gets brought up every time a new COD comes out.
Get over it, move on, and game on.

I don't see a point in grinding out hours if y'all are accepting everything but first. You want to participate in the clan wars and you want to win, but not when it requires actually working towards the competitive win.
Since you like grey areas so much, here's another. The clan and the community aren't one. There's plenty of people that don't care for Ghosts and aren't on the roster, yet they're still here. There's a few people that could care less about this site, yet they're still in the clan. Yes, some get removed because they aren't active on the site, others don't. I have almost 160 posts since I joined back in MW3, yet I was never booted. The whole "no dual clan membership" and "If those who don't like what's going on with the way things are ran in our community, by all means move to another clan" is a joke considering more than half the community isn't in the clan, leaving them the option to join other friends, but I'd bet a large sum that if anyone left the Ghosts clan for another they'd be told they broke a rule. But would they be doing so?
USMG doesn't require a great K/D to get into, everyone is accepted. What is required is jumping through six hoops to get into the Ghosts (or whatever CoD at the time) clan if that's what you're trying to do, then if you don't spend some time on the forums you have to do it all over again because you get booted.
Oh, and since y'alls panties are so scrunched over this, competitive doesn't mean "You MUST have a K/D of 1.2+, you MUST play 5+ hours a day" etc. It's as simple as trimming the fat on the roster so the small group of people that actually grind for first can attain it, adding those that actually play the game as they come. Meanwhile a secondary clan can be formed for the non competitive members of the community. No one gets left out, non competitive gets put into clan wars they can casually win, competitive gets to keep the rewards they grinded for.

I'll break this down. Your first comment makes no sense and implies that no one here has put in countless hours towards CoD. I hate the game and have put in around 50 hours. Which may not be much but its enough. THE SOLUTION IS IN WORK.
The community is what I care about. It should be the paramount issue. If people do not care for the community we can't make them but the clan is a small piece of what we are. That is it. A PIECE.
I don't know how the whole if you don't like it go elsewhere thing is a joke. We aren't for everyone. If you don't like how we do things then by all means you may leave at any moment. To think that this place should change for something as silly as clan wars doesn't make sense.
What do we get from clan wars? A couple patches and some head gear?
It really feels as though you are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
The solution in place is just what we are trying out. If it doesn't work then fine. We'll go from there its not like it takes more than 2 seconds to invite someone to the clan.
I do not care about the 6 step process or however difficult you think it is apply to our community. It is all of 5 minutes of filling out an application and getting with a staff member to square things away. Which really isn't that hard considering we almost always have them on.
It feels as though you are the only one with an issue on the subject. If there are others please encourage them to voice their issues.
What it boils down to is we want people a part of both. If they don't want to be in the community they do not belong in the clan. If people can't accept that we aren't for them...
KaNtSt0PMeH

With all this being said, none of this back and forth is constructive. It's pointless and serves no purpose.
Let's see how this solution works. If it doesn't we go from there, if it does... the same.

I agree, I like the idea of a list with everyone on it

Only cause I'm new to the forum and don't know very many people yet, besides the ones I play online with.

The more you play with members you'll meet new ones that join your game.

I reopened so Shadow and anyone else that has an idea can post. This thread is here so people can throw ideas of how to make our experience as a community the best it can possibly be. Please reply with constructive criticism if you disagree with someone's point of view. It gets us nowhere by attacking each other or ideas that are in the works. If it gets out of hand and we can't do that then we will just lock the thread again.

Fair enough I agree we should have a more constructive conversation.

Thanks. I was thinking we don't actually have the manpower to split into two clans and that would fracture the community(something none of us want). What about starting a thread where each clan member lists 3-4 gametypes they like and one they can tolerate when grouped. We can then make two units within the clan that have say 3 targets they like and one they are willing to play with a group. People could play more of what they want and it won't matter as long as they actually play.
I'll use myself as an example. I like HCKC, KC, TDM and a little blitz. I can tolerate S&R and Dom. Joe 389 would rather play Dom, HCDom, HCTDM and TDM. He is willing to play cranked when grouped. I get placed in unicornsrus and he gets placed in lokisforeveryone. From that point forward I play only the game types my division plays during a war. When enough people are on and it's open we tackle our group only target ie S&R in my example. All other times I'm playing games i don't hate but I'm still helping the war.
Ideally with two or three teams we would be hitting lots of gametypes at once and other clans will have to react to that. It also provides constant pressure on other clans because they can't defend everything at once.
Think of the war as a pie. If we divide it right everyone gets a piece but no one has to eat it all. I don't know if I explained this well enough so please ask for clarification if needed. Also, it's just an idea I had so if it never gets past mission planning at least it was heard lol .

I think people are missing the point. I haven't been able to play a lot in the clan wars and quite frankly am not very good when I do, but what makes it fun is playing with other members of the USMG. I despise playing cranked. But, I played many matches the other day because I was playing with other clan members and that was fun. The byplay and conversation between everyone was what made it worthwhile, otherwise I hated every minute of it. :)

I've been reading and not jumping in, but this makes sense and what we're about. With that said, I understand that clan wars makes match ups very tricky depending on clan size, etc. I must be the odd man out, because I see it this way, if there are members who want to try and give everything they have to Clan Wars, than great, rep USMG with pride. For myself, I'll help out if needed, but don't care one way or the other about the war. I can fly the tag USMG regardless if I'm in the clan or not, and I'm fine with that.
Hope that makes sense.....

I would like to say I like to stay out of the bickering normally. However, I am seeing a lot of repetitive posts, and it's like no one reads what has been posted prior to them posting. Look guys/gals when you signed up for USMG you were told we are a gaming Community with a military base so we can play with people we have a common ground to stand on. A place where you don't get booted for deployments tdys or real life issues that limit your playing time. With that understanding we are a non competitive group, but a group that plays together for fun and a common goal of doing what we can to hold our own against these other clans. Our staff did a great job of coming up with a fix to try to give us a better chance by cutting numbers. So let's stop the competitive non competitive conversation because you're getting the same answer across the board.

I think your suggestion has merit. I was telling Klaws the other day too bad we don't have enough people to create specialized groups. Heck if we had that and the numbers we could take multiple nodes at once. Unfortunately we don't have the numbers to do it on the mass scale I was imagining.

Indeed. If you need to roll with a group who's goal is to win every time and be at the top of the leaderboards, then by all means, roll with them. I believe we have relaxed the "no multi-clan" rule. So, you can be a member of USMG and still be competitive, if that is your wish, just not competitive here. Correct me, if I am wrong on this.

I believe this is true would like to see the official answer on this myself. It would be nice to push those that are continuing the argument in this direction to give them the best of both worlds.

Agreed this could be a viable option once we have the numbers for it. A bit more complex but play smarter not harder!

Somehow I missed that. Doesn't affect me as I get more out of playing with all of you then I could get somewhere else. However, I was concerned we were gonna start losing people based on the old policy. I am glad to see that was changed and even happier I didn't quote outdated info lol.
