I can still party with you and raid with you. I thought all guilds were the same now, All got boosted to level 25 for the perks, its just the rewards you are missing, and no leveling boost?

You waited longer inline to get in, then I actually played all day today. There is no way in cold blue hell I would wait in line for +5 hours, for anything.. ever.. I'm just saying... My worst queue ever for WoD was 600ish, and I cancelled it after waiting for 35 minutes. I did wait in line last night, for 35 minutes, and it was 580ish.. got right in today though, no wait, or queue at all.

One of the best xpacs since Lich King IMO. I'm loving the story, the maps are gorgeous and big, and killing mobs is more than just hack and slash. Haven't done a dungeon yet but I've heard good things. Only negative is you are forced into garrisons, however how far you go with them is up to you. I like the garrisons so no complaints from me

Just ran MC tonight, it was awesome! took about 90 minutes.

Garrisons are pretty interesting. I like them.
I dont like that heroics are now seemingly tied to the proving grounds. and I miss having a flying mount. I think that's pretty lame.
and I just notice that remove curse has got an 8 sec. cooldown.

But these are small complaints.

Yeah we had a couple wipes. A dude pulled the whole place and then danced about it at the beginning. Obviously he got the boot.

Then a lock facepulled a bunch of adds ahead of the entire group. Turns out he had the same pet out as me so I was lucky some people vouched that I was in the back like a good lock. Blew the other three locks out of the water in DPS but still was only 13th or 14th. Looks like shit don't change. Took about 78 minutes I think. It was a very light atmosphere, I really liked it.

Beat the Silver Proving Grounds yesterday, and got into my first heroic.

On to heroics here too but I'm still having issues with DPS.

ilvl 628, no pots, no gems, all gear chants (no weap chant), and I still only put out ~13k DPS. I got out-DPS'd by the tank. F'n embarrassing. I think I might change specs, I'm just having too much trouble with this one. I'm following the rotation/priorites, stacking the right stats, not a clicker, etc... It's really frustrating. Had to take the entire day off yesterday, didn't even log in to do my daily profession cooldowns. Felt good to take a break.

In the meantime, I've wasted 50x Hexweave cloth trying to reroll secondary stats to get crit on my crafted helm and it keeps giving me everything except crit. This game knows how to fuck with me by now it seems.

yeah, I take opportunities like that to do exploration, or achivements.. just to do something else, other then the thing thats frustrating the crap outa me.

I like to read Icy-veins and Elitist Jerks too.

Yeah EJ was my go-to back in the WotLK days. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they've done anything for WoD for locks. I'll check out icy veins and see if they disagree with anything on noxxic. I just built the tavern so they've got normal mode dungeon quests to run, would be a good time to try another spec or something. Maybe it's just time to stop the destro addiction.

Problem with affliction is lack of burst damage and a lot of fights require bursting adds and such. It's been the spec's Achilles heel forever. I might try demonology. Destro is going ok now, but just ok. Theoretically it doesn't matter what I do compared to other classes. Lock is towards the very bottom no matter what spec I pick. After all these years, I would have hoped that would have changed. I guess I wasn't playing this game when locks were anything close to FotM if that has ever happened. Not sure why they never got any love.

Noxxic had me stacking all the wrong stats on my Ret pally, im 640 iLevel and only doing 13K DPS, I should be doing 19-21K, So I am redoing all my stats and enchants. Try enchanting your neck, rings and weapon from an enchanters shack. Its a huhge boost for your DPS. Icyveins seems to have the best guide out there that I have found. Good luck bro

I haven't been overly impressed with Noxxic either. I tend to keep my opinion to myself however, because everyone has their favorite.
I like Icy-Veins.. Its my go too for stat crunching, and ElitestJerks.. I also like AlteredTime.com, wow-professions, elsanglin.com and ofcourse, the defacto go to, wowhead.

Well what is sad is that I have out-DPS'd every lock I've run with in Highmaul raids, minus only those who have better gear. That is usually good for top 10 in the raid. The others are usually well down the charts. There's usually a lump of purple at the bottom of my recount. Chants are all there, I pot, food buffs, etc... I haven't seen a comparison of all class DPS "ceilings" on any site that doesn't confirm locks are once again gimps. It would be nice if we at least had some utility.

I have been waiting for EJ to weigh in with a guide but no luck yet.

I tend not to like tying myself too much to just top DPS.. I play Frost because I like frost. Not because its the best or top DPS. (its not) - Whats important is it has great sustained damage, and in frost, I have no mana contention issues, and my sustained DPS averages out in the top 50% of the chart, and I have good burst potential atleast once every 2 minutes.

I'm happy as long as I'm not at the very bottom of the chart, because honestly, in these new instances, there is so much movement involved, its impossible to get any consistent reading.. I have gone on a raid, where I was 2 or 3 on the DPS chart, and a week later on reset, I was 8 or 9 on the chart for the same bosses.

I got consistent readings with destro, always between 15k and 17k. Looks like Affliction is king above ilvl 650 or so. I'll be giving it a shot when I pick the game back up.

Hmm I might have to pick this back up.

Went affl before I walked away from it again, very challenging and does a bit less DPS than destro, but much less spammy and requires more situational awareness and skill to get right. I like the challenge. It was nice to finally have other locks /w me asking what my spec and priority/rotation were.

If we get pop back in this game, I'm more than willing to return. It just kinda sucked how the pug raids were nerfed with nerfed loot.
