No joke. I know it snowed in Montgomery today and people drive crazy whenever there's any RAIN, much less SNOW!

On a side note, we've now had 3 days of flying cancelled because of bad weather (2 for snow).

I feel ya!!!
I left this morn cause im on hitch here at lake Charles tomorrow for work for the next 14 days.. i figured how bad could it be.. i left oxford around 0730.. no snow.. i got a frantic call from my x telling me i need to rethink my route and next stop to check the web.. before i hit Tuscaloosa i hit a wall of heavy thick snow!! im like ok i can deal with this.. no ice yet.. ill be ok.. i stop at the Mississippi border.. check my route.. which is I-20 to I-59 to I-10 ...pretty straight and easy for the most part.. takes me around 6 1/2 to 7 hours to get to lake Charles..but the state of Louisiana has close major sections of ramps and interstate of I-10..ohhh shit is it that bad??... so i look at the storm and the map.. ill just skirt the storm on I-20 and head straight over to Monroe La. and head down Hwy 165.. no biggy...yeaah right... by the time i hit meridian Mississippi..nothing but black ice and snow all the way to Jackson...uggh white knuckle driving.. but since im a Yankee i know how to handle snow and ice...but all these damn southerners DONT!!.. must have saw 10-15 car slide off the road and even had fully loaded 4x4 full size truck with full load in the back too..he hit the brakes and slide out right in front of me... nothing i could do but keep on.. plus i knew there was a cop 5 cars back and i saw him hit his lights as soon as he saw the truck slide out ... so i get clear of the storm and doing 30 in a 70.. which has killed my time.. at Vicksburg my x calls and shows me pics of the house front lawn.. in 3-4 hours of snow fall in Oxford Alabama.. 3 plus inches..wow it was so bad in AL that the oxford police dept went to the Guard armory and traded the patrol cars for HMMWV's so they could help out on the road and get every one home.. they pretty much closed the city down and told people to go home and stay there..dang!! needless to say after turning south from Monroe.. after the 1st 100 miles i hit the tail of the storm ..well what was left of it..ICE roads for the next 90 miles... ugghh needles to say i made it in 12+ hours.. im exhuasted.. good thing i dont head in till 1400 tomorrow..
