As stated I am quite new to gaming and I am player who enjoys a storyline. I have been interested in Skyrim for some time now, and this morning I loaded up Skyrim Legendary on the 360. I will very likely be playing Skyrim online on my XBONE once that comes out. I did order the Imperial Edition. I enjoyed Lord of the Rings and am a Hobbit fan too, so this seems like a very good match with my interests. I also want to play a game that I feel certain will last for several years with good DLC's. I will keep my gamer tag bobbibot, so I hope to see some of you in game.

I have been playing Elder Scrolls since Morrowind on the original XBOX. It is an amazing series. I would go back further if I ever find the time to to play the others. Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim make up my second favorite game series of all time. ESO may have monthly fees but its going to be awesome!

Yeah, lot of fun in that series, throughout the last several games.
I'd suggest trying out Dragon Age, if you find downtime from Skyrim. The first game is amazingly wide open, with a solid, wide open story. So many parts that change depending on your decisions.
The second game is a bit more linear, trading some of the wide open RPG for more action, but the story is similarly very wide and solid.

I actually have Oblivion too, so I may go back with that one. I have looked at Dragon Age a couple of times, so I will take another look at it since you mentioned it. I am concerned now about any games that may not be supported in the near future for XBOX360. I read here and there that Microsoft intends to provide support for about the next 3 years, but I am waiting to hear more about possible cloud support to bridge 360 and XBONE. (It seems like a no brainer that people who have played a particular game for years would demand that bridge between the two consoles) I started playing Skyrim yesterday and I really like this game!!! There is just so much to it! The Legendary version came with expansion packs, so I will picking up more and more of the story and lore of the games. It is all about the story in the game with me. I also have two of the novels about the story, so that is another avenue to bring more of the story into it.

What do you mean by cloud support? If you're talking about playing games that are exclusively 360 and being able to play them on the One, likely not going to happen since theres no backwards compatibility.
If you're talking about save data, that's largely dependant on the developer. And while account info is saved and transferred for some games, I wouldn't expect it to go much beyond what we've already seen for BF4 and Ghosts.
Or, like what Dragon Age: Inquisition will be doing. Which is basically a virtual novel that lets you recreate the decisions from the past two games, and serves as a lore device for the story. Will be pretty cool to see in action.

There was discussion that there would be the ability to cloud over a game from 360 to the X1 since its not a hardware based game should they ever find the means to make it capable. Unlikely I'm sure but would be nice if you could.

Hmm...I was referring to the cloud method but a graphic novel sounds very nice too. I am pretty bogged with work but I have been dabbling in Skyrim. I am reallllly into this game on the 360. I just ordered the strategy guide 2nd Edition collectors edition and I am even nuts about the book itself. I am playing the Legendary Edition with all the DLCs that came with it. I will admit it froze on me the other night and I nearly had heart failure. Oh, yeah, more about the book. "Free Access to the interactive world map- code inside." Points of interests venders, trainers, skill books -covers all 9 hold cities. I have not logged in and set it up yet, but I think it is gonna be cool! Even if there is no crossover from 360 to the X1, I will still play both.

I've got the book as well, game is so big its just mandatory to track all the locations.
Im curious to see how these games will start taking advantage of Xbox smartglass. The AC4 app was pretty awesome, the map part in particular was nice. Live map showing your area, enemies, etc. I used it a lot for the assassin contracts and Templar hunts.

I love Skyrim, it's one of my favorite games! I am still waiting on confirmation from my game store that they have an xbox one waiting for me so that I am ready to go when ESO comes out! Might actually start playing Skyrim again soon.... Oh Skyrim, how I miss thee!

Hello, my name is Sam and I am a newly found Skrim addict. :) my only complaint is that my ADD gets in the way then I am doing, or at least attempting to do multiple quests at the same time. I sometimes just climb to the top of a mountain at night just to watch the northern lights.

Thanks to that DLC I've now got Skyrim OCD.... Everything needs to be stores in the correct place and if anything is out of place it gets thrown away! I wanted to sell my gems one day, but they've fixed the money Lucius in river wood trader carries when you invest in his shop :( he used to have like 12k or 20k, now he only has 1.5k

Just bounce between a couple. Better yet, go to thief guild contacts after you finish. Load up and fast travel to each.

I did already get the house in Whiterun. I needed a place to store much of the stuff I was carrying around. I was sure what I really needed to keep, so I was hoarding everything I could carry. The last Elder Scrolls game I played was Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall. 20 years ago. Damn, that was a long time ago!!

Oh no. Theres a house for every city basically. 6 city houses and with one of the expansions, 3 plots in the country. You get to build your own home, build all the decorations, and use it for major storage. Makes your house in Whiterun look like a shack for beggars.

And if you have the coin... You can buy the add-on of Hearth Fire and get the permission to build three of your own houses. I thought this was a stupid add-on, but I like having the enchanter and alchemy set-ups (and other features) that are offered.

Had that once with the frost troll up on high hrothgar, killed it just as it was in the process of taking a swing at me and it started doing ballerina moves and fell off the side of the mountain, hilarious!!

CJ (Not affiliated with the USMG) revived my interest in playing Skyrim, some time ago... If you have the time check some of his walkthroughs....
This guy would be a riot to play some co-op games with.

Yeah, so I am late for this party, but I am loving it. New owned home, Proudspire Manor in Solitude feels like I just moved from the slums, compared to the Whiterun house. Those dam cobwebs will not disappear though. If it wasn't for those this would be the ultimate bachelor pad.

You need to get Headstone and build your own pad. Then youre truly pimping it up.

Yep, I mentioned that above. Make sure you haven't maxed out your Smithing Skills if you get this. All the building you do in Hearth Fire you will level up quick, especially in your early stages.

Oh my! Hearth Fire is amazing! I built all 3 houses and they all have their own purpose. One of them has the garden stuff and Magic stuff in, the other has a library for all my books that I pick up during the game & a kitchen (yes a beasty kitchen, like i have time for baking pasties in Skyrim) and the other has my gems and armors in with chests full of daedric stuff and named weapons.... I am so OCD when it comes to games like these.
When you buy the Dragonborn DLC you also get a house in Solstheim (which is pretty ma-hoo-sive). I like Dragonbron DLC better than Dawnguard DLC.

I didn't play Dawnguard, Vampires creep me out. LOL
I set up my houses (Hearth Fire) the same way. Each has a separate purpose. I have a thane, a follower and a bard at each... kinda crazy when I visit. I don't like the house in Solstheim. It needs more or better placed storage containers.

Hahaha, you wuss! :p I wasn't too keen on the DLC so once I played it through, I didn't really want to play it or go to them areas again.
Yeah I have a bard & thane at each, just not a follower at each as the Thane follows me if I want them too. But they annoy me too much so I tend to leave them there. At my main house (Heljarchen Hall - the one near Whiterun & Dawnstar) I have my Husband, which I met in Winterhill College (love at first sight!) & two children. I think I adopted one and the other was roaming around in Whiterun. One kid has brought in a Fox as pet, the other child brought in a Skeever, but I thought it was ugly so i didnt let him have it!

Yeah, its kinda awesome how you can tweak or match each of the three houses. I did the same thing....library-arcane house/hunters lodge/armory.
Plus all the missions that come with it are pretty awesome. And each seems to perfectly fit certain areas.
