FPS GAMING SOFTWARE DEVELOPER job available in HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Become a member of the Army Game Studio's Agile Scrum software development team for "America's Army: The Official U.S. Army Game" as well as numerous military and scientific First-Person Shooter (FPS) style training and simulation applications.
Candidates will utilize Epic's latest Unreal Engine 4 (UE4) Technology to develop vehicles, weapons, characters, interfaces, tools and other game related content. He/She will work closely with fellow programmers, game designers and artists on the implementation of new features for existing and new FPS style simulations and games for training applications.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Game Development, Simulation Programming, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and 1+ years experience. A valid High School diploma or GED and 7+ years equivalent game or simulation development experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Software development experience with FPS style games or man-in-the-loop training systems.
- Outstanding C/C++ programming and debugging skills.
- Experience in object-oriented design and programming.
- Experience with software configuration management systems.
- Ability to test, debug and extend existing code competently.
- Understanding of memory management and runtime optimization.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to clearly express ideas and concepts.
- Good interpersonal people skills with the ability to quickly fit into an existing team.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Development experience in one or more of the following programming languages is a plus:
- Adobe's Flash/Action Script
- C#
- Bohemia Interactive Script
- Unreal Script
- DirectX
- OpenGL
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or facilities.
