When I was active we wanted our own cammies, which finally happened long after I got out. Back then it was the way we rolled the selves that differentiated us from other branches. When I was in Cuba they feared the white cuffs!! Lol!!

Being in the Army I envied you guys cause you could do that and was pissed for you guys cause in my opinion, that was a signature look for the marines.
Kinda gave you guys a BA appearance.

Yeah it was an awesome thing, I was pissed to see it go. I will not even go into what I think about Amos because I feel it's not appropriate for me to say, not even as a former active duty Marine.
Sleeve rolling time was a time to show attention to detail through perfectly rolled sleeves. It was a source of pride for many and really was an external tell about one's attention to detail and pride in wearing the uniform. Sure it will never win us a war, but it was still part of the everyday Corps to me just the same.

Hell, General Amos just woke up eh? Supposedly he had been debating going back to the tradition for sometime now (inside scoop).
At least he changed the policy. Some of you did not have to endure the 'fashion designer' previous Commandants. White t-shirt, no t-shirt, V-neck t-shirt, chevrons on the cover, slant pockets to straight pockets, horse blanket to trench coat,.... and where the hell is the wooly pully????
I am so old Corps my dresser is a foot locker (that is NO bullshit).

I still have all my Corps stuff in my foot locker in the basement, somehow it includes seven magazines and my bayonet (whoops?). I'm in no way "old school" but I really don't like the uniform changes which have come and sometimes gone since I joined in 2001.
I loved my wooly pully. So warm.... Too bad every hipster in Chicago has one too

That's funny!! The wooly pulley!! I still have mine for memory purposes. I wouldn't wear that with civvies if you paid me, it's ugly as shit!! Lol

Yeah they wont let us roll our sleeves on the Flight Line here for PPE purposes. Which makes no sense because we can take our tops off? Lol... Either way when the AF guys roll their sleeves it looks like shit. Plus last time I tried to roll my sleeves I couldn't fit my forearms through the cuff lol.

that most likely wont happen. as much as i hate to say it, i wish the tattoos wouldnt be such an issue but the whole purpose behind it makes sense. i know he did loosen up the policy to sy that we can get tattoos where we previously couldnt, as long as the hand covers it. so i guess im safe for now.

Rolled sleeves may be badass but its just one more thing to do and get bitched at about for not being perfect
