Battlefield Platoon

Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen,

As some of you may know i have been named the head of the Battlefield Platoon, as of now it looks like all of the platforms are linked on the same platoon. For now the GREENTEAM members for your respective platforms will be admins for the "Super" Platoon till if or when the platoons decide to split up for the platforms. Any questions or concerns you may have can be directed to the admins or myself at anytime. The guidelines for the platoon are posted below. Semper Fidelis!!!

This Platoon is an extension of the USMG Community, and in such we should strive to act accordingly to the rules and regulations of the U.S. Military Gamers. We are a non competitive Gaming Organization who prides ourselves on professionalism and integrity both in game and out. The purpose of these guidelines are to ensure that we maintain and uphold the standards of our great community.
1. if you are part of the platoon ensure you are utilizing the USMG clan tag.
2. ensure you are checking the forums and the battle log platoon page for information.
3. No "down talking" different platoons while in game chat or when playing with prospective members.
4. utilize the ADMINS for your perspective consols if any questions or needs arise that you feel need to be directed to the staff.
5. ensure you are utilizing the forums to find out about upcoming events on battlefield involving the community.

It's like hot (bf4) and cold (cod). Haha battlefield is team based depending on the game mode, and don't have to get kills to get points depending on the game mode

Yea it's more focused on the objective, not run n gunning, although you can still do that if you choose. (You just end up hurting your team)

I like both(CoD and BF) but as stated.. you dont have to be on Beast mode to win at battlefield.. and still do decent.. play as a team and win as a team..

They are similar because they are both shooters and have similar game types, but for me it ends there. I think BF4 is much more challenging than CoD. At least I die a lot more. One of the main differences, as has already been mentioned, is it is more team/objective focused and doesn't promote running and gunning as much. There are certainly a bunch of people that play that way, but they will quickly get owned by a coordinated team who plays the objectives. There are also many ways to score points other than just shooting the opposing players. Providing support in the form of med kits and ammo, or resuscitating players who have been killed are just a few ways to gain points. Another big difference between CoD and BF4 is the ability to operate vehicles in game. These range from helicopters, jets, tanks, jeeps, APC's, motorcycles, attack boats, and more. How's that for a quick run down? :) Go grab a copy and join the platoon.

Don't forget the bullet drop. You pretty much hit the nail on the head. Speaking of a coordinated team, if you have one person of each squad (depending on level), you can completely dominate the map. Recon to spot and call people out while taking their heads off. Always have to protect one another.

Oh, yeah. Love the destruction. There was a sniper last night on top of a small building who got me. I respawned and took the top off the building with an MBT LAW. Kind of surprised me actually when it blew.

Yeah I replied to your post on the platoon wall, but it's basically myself, you, Sav, iamthesgt, xTWOxTIGERSx, and a couple people who dabbled in it for a minute and play on a different platform. I may be forgetting some though. We've also got the guys from BF3 who haven't accepted invites to the BF4 platoon yet, but I'm not sure how many of them still play. DICE and EA really forced a lot of people away from the game, I'm not sure how many are left. I was waiting for implementation of platoon/squad functionality because I have no fun playing on my own, and now that it's here, maybe we'll be able to draw some of these guys back.

Anyway, I should be on pretty often from here on out. Sam was doing occifer things and couldn't bring his desktop or something like that, but he'll be back once he gets back to his desktop. Sav also posted somewhere that he was incredibly busy lately; once that subsides, I'm sure he'll be on here more often.

Basically to get more people on PC, we're going to first have to have people playing, like a chicken and egg scenario, but if we get a good core of guys, we should be able to have a lot of fun.

Ok I think my age finally caught up to me I used to be computer geek. But now I can barely do anythg. So besides the old timers kicking in. I found the USMG page on battlelog for X1 I hit the fan button. And I didn't see a button or nothing for join platoon. What else do I need to do?

Nothing popped up for me and it wouldnt even let me search for the platoon so what I did, at the right side of the screen it shows your xbox one players online&offline. So I just clicked on one of the USMG members which in this case was Comanche and scrolled down to the bottom of his page which it said which platoon he was in. I clicked on the immage and it took me to the USMG platoon where at the top right corner the apply button appeared! :D

FYI of we don't see you on the server regularly we may cut you from vip to accommodate more regular players, nothing personal, and you can always get put back on. Unfortunately, the space is limited but we try to accommodate everyone the best we can.

Along with what Irish said about the VIP slots, we went name by name that was on the list, and if you weren't active on it, or if we hadn't seen you on in a while you ended up getting cut to make room. If you know you are going to be gone for a period of time, let us know so we don't accidentally cut you off of it.

It shows that you have been invited. Go to my profile and it should show platoons my friends are in and click on the usmilitarygamers one and apply or accept the invite

We have two servers over on the X1 side, not to sure about the 360 side of things. But to join the platoon, find someone you are a friend with on battlelog that is apart of the platoon, and just go to their profile. Once there, it should say they are representing USMG, just click on that and it should take you to the USMG platoon page.

There was a port to the original Xbox, ps2, 360, PS3 called Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. It was what got me into Battlefield. Ahead of its time for sure! Definitely a slimmed down version of BF2 on PC though.
