Another Fucking Shooting, This shit needs to stop. :mad:

Authorities say earlier this evening, an on-duty Marine shot and killed another Marine (http://bigstory.ap.org/article/marine-guard-shot-death-colleague-nc-base) as they worked together in a guard shack at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.

It was a ND AFAIK.

None the less, if it was accidental, someone needs the four safety rules tattooed on his forehead.

Negligent Discharge, meaning unintentional although extremely stupid and inexcusable.

AFAIK == As Far As I Know.

They were reporting it as a ND yesterday anyway. I don't know if that's changed and I would not be shocked if that was bogus info. We shall see i guess, sad either way.

There has to be something else involved with it. But there was a shooting/suicide at the navy hospital in Portsmouth va yesterday as well

All these shootings at home bases the last couple months/weeks. We need to start looking at our people more closely and noticing warning signs. I bet there have been some

Yep, I was at the gate last night just after it happened... picking up the General coming back from Morocco. Inside scoop is that it was an accident. I can't divulge the rest.

Yeah we need to stop killing each other and ourselves, I'm just shocked at the rate of suicide. I was at a district VFW meeting the other month and it just horrible and growing from all eras. I made comment that they should start another Vietnam wall with all the vets that fought there who committed suicide later in life, they are as much a causality as the one's that died in country, this is already over the top with the Iraq/afgan vets. Sorry this is a big topic with me and my local VFW in my small town we lose about 1 a year to suicide, I'm getting off my soap box now.

Yeah, I agree. It pisses me off whenever we go to suicide prevention class and some dumbass complaints about going. If it can potentially save someone's life, I would take the fucking class once a week. 2 to 3 times a year isn't shit.
