It was a decent horror movie. The trailer made it seemed like it was going to be kind of cheese, but it wasn't. It had some intense horror moments and scares, a few slight gory scenes, etc. The ending could've definitely been better. It did not ruin the movie for me though.

I really thought it was a good movie. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because of "Canoe" Reeves, he is a horrible actor. Story, visuals, characters and creatures were all superb in my opinion.

Ender's Game

:star: :star: :star: :star:

I thought overall it stayed true to the central points of the book, and I recognize the need for artistic license, but I felt like they could have told a better story with 15-20 minutes more and stayed more faithful to the book.

Cap 2.

* * * * *

Excellent movie. Further proof that "comic-book movie" is no longer a genre of film, simply source material. Great story, solid casting and development, overall very good film.

Disagree that its Marvel's best, though.

I haven't seen it (yet), but I'd argue that "comic-book movie" is still a genre. May not refer to quality anymore, but it's as much a "comic-book movie" as Lord of the Rings is a "fantasy epic".

Indeed it does!! And on that topic, Sam, you're making my point. Lumping Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Batman, and Guardians all in to the same "comic book based" genre would be like lumping Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Wizard of Oz movies all in to the same "fantasy novel based" genre.

For the most part, excellent. Some parts where they deviated from the book were okay, some were great, others were just annoying. And I could do without the romance bit, too forced.

You're right Incredible Hulk was. After the avengers they made tony stark into a slight puss in IM3 but for those with PTSD made him more relateable and is it just me or are they using all recent events to put more meaning to the movies?

In regards to Cap 2, I would go as far as calling it the best Marvel movie. It kept me interested the whole time. It had some signature Marvel humor, but it wasn't overdone like in the other Marvel movies. It also doesn't have many plot holes like the other Marvel movies.

Saw it last night for the first time.

Shit was bananas.

The airplane scene was intense.

Ha, I love the double team from Vin and Dwayne and on the meat head.

I love cars, hot women, and action.

I give the movie 5 out of 5 stars.

I'm looking forward to the next one. I'm a Jason Statham fan. Seeing him, the rock, and Diesel in a fight would be epic.

It is prettt faithful. Some changes for expediency's sake, but well done. And there are a significant number of sequels bookwise. Several take place between the end of the movie and the end of the book.

Compared to The First Avenger? Liked Winter Soldier a little better, but mostly because of how it is going to create a pretty major ripple effect moving forward. But I also like something about pretty much all of Marvel's releases.

It was good, but not as great as the other DC animated movies. I've been spoiled by the Justice League movies, haha. The main problem I had with it was how OP the kid was. I just don't see him fighting and keeping up with Death Stroke as well as he did.

It doesn't hurt to set aside the nostalgia glasses. There are a couple of throwbacks and nods to the original, much like with Total Recall or Dredd. But its a solid movie that stands just fine on its own, and could easily be better than the original.

Michael Bay's recipe for a summer blockbuster.

Watch every major action movie that comes out while you're developing and grab whats cool. Mix in the major plot points from the last three Transformers movies. Sprinkle in 3 months worth of one-liners. Bake for 2 and a half hours. Serve with popcorn.

I got it for free and was conferring if I could get a refund. The story has lots of potential but they try to do some crazy plot twist with shitty character development, it does have plenty of action and Arnold plays a dark role. The reviews on IMDB do seem split though, some people loved it and think it's his comeback film. Personally it wasn't his acting that made me not like it, it's the story/screenplay that sucks.

It sounds really interesting. I looked it up after you mentioned it.

THE WAY is a powerful and inspirational story about family, friends and the challenges we face while navigating this ever-changing and complicated world. Martin Sheen plays Tom, an irascible American doctor who comes to France to deal with the tragic loss of his son (played by Emilio Estevez). Rather than return home, Tom decides to embark on the historical pilgrimage "The Way of St. James" to honor his son's desire to finish the journey. What Tom doesn't plan on is the profound impact this trip will have on him. Through unexpected and oftentimes amusing experiences along "The Way," Tom discovers the difference between "the life we live and the life we choose.”Inexperienced as a trekker, Tom soon discovers that he will not be alone on this journey. On "The Way," Tom meets other pilgrims from around the world, each with their own issues and looking for greater meaning in their lives: a Dutchman (Yorick van Wageningen), a Canadian (Deborah Kara Unger) and an Irish writer (James Nesbitt), who is suffering from a bout of writer's block.

From the unexpected and, oftentimes, amusing experiences along "The Way," this unlikely quartet of misfits creates an everlasting bond and Tom begins to learn what it means to be a citizen of the world again. Through Tom's unresolved relationship with his son, he discovers the difference between "the life we live and the life we choose."

I would have to disagree. The movie was full of funny moments.

I really enjoyed the movie. It was at least a :star: :star: :star: :star: for me. I'm probably biased though. I really like both of the starting actors and I'm a big fan of New Girl.

Overall, with bias aside, I thought the movie was hilarious. The characters got into plenty of funny shenanigans. The only thing that could have made the movie better is more character development.

I was going to watch this next. Forget it now.

They made the movie about a random navy EOD Tech Lt, and his family. I just didn't like it. It got a 6.8 out of 10 on IMDB and a 62 meta score. Some people liked it, I'm among those that didn't.

This is the plot description on IMDB-In 1999, the Janjira nuclear plant was mysteriously destroyed with most hands lost including supervisor Joe Brody's colleague and wife, Sandra. Years later, Joe's son, Ford, a US Navy ordnance disposal officer, must go to Japan to help his estranged father who obsessively searches for the truth of the incident. In doing so, father and son discover the disaster's secret cause on the wreck's very grounds. This enables them to witness the reawakening of a terrible threat to all of Humanity, which is made all the worse with a second secret revival elsewhere. Against this cataclysm, the only hope for the world may be Godzilla, but the challenge for the King of the Monsters will be great even as Humanity struggles to understand the destructive ally they have.

This movie may be old for some of you on this forum, but I had the chance to see it again in-between my regular Saturday sports viewing frenzy.

Flags of Our Fathers -- I give this a 4.9/5.0.

If you enjoy a war movie with a historical perspective, you should love this. I have watched this a few times and it is just as good every viewing.
I am a little bias (I am a Marine, I met the author on a couple of occasions and I am a huge Clint Eastwood fan {Director}) on my review. If you do watch listen to the last segment of the movie... 'Why we go to war, and who are our "Heroes".' In few words they capture the meaning of both.
This is a movie more about an event than the battle. If you know the history, this is a great insight into the people (a personal look) that made it.

Enjoy and
Semper-Fi

Jurassic World was pretty good, although the product placement is pretty relentless.

I liked it but thought the ending was kind of shaky.

I watched a movie recently that I think you ALL need to watch.

Whiplash.

Incredible flick.

5/5

One of those movies where you are left in awe.

Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser

Don't waste your time. Streamed it for free on cracked.com and still feel that I was ripped off.

Captain America: Civil War

Probably my favorite Marvel movie so far. They did a really good job introducing Black Panther and Spiderman. I'm looking forward to seeing more of these characters in their own respective movies. The movie also follows well the previous movies, which could be a negative if you haven't seen all of them.

The conflict between both sides was well developed also. When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I didn't really think that they could come up for a legitimate reason for them to fight each other, but they really made it work.

Blade (watched it last night with my wife)

It's a fun comic book/vampire flick with lots of action, and Kris Kistofferson as Whistler is awesome. It's a film where you realize that if it wasn't rated R, it would have been a throw-away.
