Congratulations, you've been selected to battle it out in the Heroes of the Storm Technical Alpha! Heroes of the Storm™ is our first free-to-play online team brawler, featuring iconic Blizzard characters, fast-paced combat, and epic battlegrounds that affect gameplay in fun, unexpected ways.
What's a Technical Alpha?
While Heroes of the Storm is playable and much of the core experience is present, we're still very early in development and the Tech Alpha is truly a work in progress. Our main goal in this phase of testing is to test stability and improve the game service to handle more players online. You can help us out by simply playing the game...a lot. And your feedback can help us fine-tune the game's balance prior to releasing it for larger scale testing. To learn more about why we're doing a Technical Alpha, you can check out this video.
What's In It For Me?
In addition to giving us your feedback as you engage in epic battles, you'll also have the opportunity to test out our commerce system by purchasing heroes, skins and mounts. As a thank you for players who do, we're creating a special mount for you! More details will come later on the mount and its availability. We'll also offer this mount to all players who purchase items during any of our future alphas or betas.
Remember, This Is a Test!
Keep in mind that each testing phase will eventually come to an end and all progress will be wiped so we can do additional testing. That means when we start the next phase of testing, any experience you've gained and any heroes or skins you've unlocked will be reset as though you're starting a fresh account. Don't panic! You'll receive a Battle.net Balance credit for the amount you spent. Also bear in mind that there will be a $325 USD cap on all purchases during Technical Alpha. Check out our FAQ for more details.
