6 VA employees face discipline for manipulating data about care

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — The Department of Veterans Affairs says six employees at a clinic in Fort Collins and the VA Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming, should be disciplined for manipulating data about veteran care.

The VA has proposed unspecified action against Rocky Mountain Network Director Ralph Gigliotti and Cheyenne VA Medical Center Director Cynthia McCormack. The department did not specify which other employees are facing discipline.

Acting VA Secretary Sloan Gibson said Tuesday the actions of employees who have been found to have manipulated data will not be tolerated.

Investigators from the VA's medical branch say workers were told to make their records show that veterans got appointments within 14 days of the day requested, whether or not it was true.

I just hope the hammer drops as high in the chain as it should. Don't let the higher ups scapegoat their way out of this.

Gibson is another political hack....<-- My opinion (from a personal discussion with this guy).

The VA employees are worried about retaliation from whistleblowing these transgressions. But you should see (what I see) in the trenches from the Veterans that use the system and try to raise a voice. I am pretty sure, I am on quite a few government blacklists.
