View Full Version : Anyone ever have hermit crabs?

Got 2 at a fair last week. Kids think they are cool and we picked up another last night at the store. Got them in a large tank and enough sand for them now they decided to bury themselves all 3 are buried. Wife is like wow these are some awesome pets lol. Anyone ever deal with them?

Yep ive had two myself. They are evil as hell! But yea they don't do much if you have a container with wire they can climb on they may be a bit more active but other than that water the sponge and feed them whatever the hell they eat and waazzzam! nothing....

My brother had one as a kid and all I remember was the damn thing pinched him lol...careful

make sure you dont have any plants they can climb up on, and make sure to have a decent cover.. I have a couple, and they got out, and it was a week before we found them..:heh:

I've never had the hermit kind of crabs.

Lol, use the ice pick fire method to get rid of them.

Never had those crabs myself. But a couple of my troops picked some up when we went to the Philippines. I just sent them to sick call and the Doc gave them some crème.... no more crabs!
