I've been waiting for a good lord of the ring game. While this one looks to be (very) loosely based on the universe, it will still count. I went from on the fence to preordered in one day! :bolt:

I've got too many on my plate with not enough time. Was really excited for this one until I saw the release date. If I get done with another game early, I may pick it up later, though.

I'm picking this up when I get back. It was on my radar already. I don't even like lotr, still haven't seen the movies to this day as I fall asleep every time it try, but this game looks pretty fun.

Okay, this is a serious issue. I do believe we can create a possible resolution, with you maintaining your man-card on a probationary status.
Put in the movies. Any time there is a non-action scene starring solely hobbits.....fast forward.
There are some amazingly dry parts of the movie. But there are some great humorous scenes and absolutely stunning action sequences and scenic shots. That simply must be watched.

And the world behind it was one of the most complete and details fantasy worlds created, complete with actual new languages. And the books are great pieces of literature, not merely good stories like most novels nowadays.
Lord of the Rings trilogy is the best trilogy of movies I have ever seen(take that star wars!) Classic good vs. Evil type of stuff.
Who doesn't like a dwarf holding a battleax grunting "Let them come!" or a wizard shouting "You shall not pass!"
It's the stuff that makes going to see a movie so great and what most movies being churned out by Hollywood seem to be missing. The theory is to replace great movies with great CGI. Most people don't know the difference.

It definitely sounds interesting, but what little free time I have for gaming I spend on planetary annihilation - and that's an hour or two a week. I can't justify it right now.
Shadow of mordor is simply a great game :peace:Like many of you, I am limited on the time I can put towards my gaming. Family and military requirements keep me plenty busy. Because of that I have to be a little bit more picky when it comes to which games I play. Save yourself the time and just pick this up. I feel like most people will find something here to like. From the nemesis system to simply picking herbs, it's a rather robust game. I'm only about 5 hours in so far and still have a lot more to go. Anyone else pick this up?

Got it. Love it. I've died more times in this game than any non- shooter game since I was a kid and its nice. Finally a game that is difficult but in an extremely rewarding way, getting revenge has been my mission since i was first killed and quickly distracted me from the quest line.

20 hrs in and 50% complete, combat is amazing. Player is a badass but get cocky and you get rekt. Fabulous

Great game, very frustrating lol, plan to die a lot. But once you start getting the feel for the game very good. Don't go charging in look around many different ways to complete the missions or just run around and play.

Anyone else been playing this? Been swapping between Madden and Sunset Overdrive. This game is amazeballs. If you are on the fence you need to get it. Combat system and game play very similar to the Arkham series.

Got this game for Christmas played it a little bit so far trying to get use to the combat system after playing Dragon Age.
