Hes not the first president to bungle a simple salute and wont be the last. That being said if you are going to be Commander and Chief you need to learn some basic military decorum. The salute is so simple and demonstrates a huge amount of respect. Respect is a two way street. The US is always under threat of attack. The level of threat is only as high as how the media wants sensationalize it.

If you ask me if you want to be President you need to have served in this country's military

My thoughts are if you want to become a full citizen(right to vote, receive benefits) you should serve in some fashion. Doesn't have to be just military but maybe similar to ROK, military, police, fire department, aid worker, ect ect. I'd also love to see a minimum requirement for how many days the elected officials must work and only allow a 2-4 months of active campaigning. They are campaigning more than they work.

The media is the whole reason this "ISIS" thing is blowing out of control. For those who don't know, here are some names you might recognize, ISIS = ISIL, ISIS, AQI, ISI, this group has changed their name and image about ever 9months to a year, but it is still a former part of Al Qaida in Iraq going off and doing their own thing. The whole mission of this group is to unify the Levant (turkey down to the red sea) as an islamic state... the same goal as before just a larger region and still going to fail. This group was my main focus when we were on a float over there when syria kicked off their whole war, genocide, government repression what ever you choose to call it. So if you want more information on it I will do my best to elaborate with out going into the secret squirrel shit.

Brian, you should read Starship Troopers, if you haven't. Skip the movie, it sucks. But the book is pretty amazing.

Omg the movie was awful, Denise Richards is the worst actress on the planet. Yeah I've read it and was completely shocked when I got to all that stuff. It may have refined my view a little bit. Than of you combine that with systems from places like ROK and Israel I'm somewhere in that area. I think you should have to earn everything not just sit back and wait for a handout.

I disagree with the serving part there are allot of us that would give anything to serve but can't for different reasons such as myself. Though I do agree that all citizens need to have some type of basic training and those that refuse pay a higher tax percentage.

I'm sure there are plenty of things you are capable of doing that would help in a system that was less restrictive. I mean seriously a drone operator, computer specialist doesn't need to pass a PT test. If we evaluated on job performance alone we would be a much more effective force and society.

Yes we would but unfortunately we don't do it that way that's why I am going to school for accounting. If I had the opportunity to go in and have an office type job I'd do it or even the surveillance drone I'd do it in a heart beat.

We know. Plus it's a hypothetical system that I'd like to see happen, too much common sense for our society.
