Bounties, bounties, bounties!!! Level up your vanguard, crypt arch, and crucible rank to get legendary weapons!!! You can't really do missions on hard until you ARE leveled up. If you try a mission on level 24 and your not at 20 yet, you will die A LOT!!! Unless you run with someone at a higher level!!

A1000 is right. Do the story and try to marry up bounties with it. Run patrols and try and hit up public events (you can start collecting shards/energy before you hit 20). Then when you run out of that hit up crucibles. I think you get 1800xp for even losing...

I agree...do lots and lots of bounties. If you have other characters save some good loot in the vault for your upcoming character to use. I put engrams that I got from Tiger Strikes in the vault and decrypted them with the new character...makes getting blue armor with light a LOT easier.
