I usually don't like his reviews but this one is 100% spot on. Watch it all and see if there is anything you disagree with. The best line from it is "I don't hate Destiny, I'm just so disappointed"

I used to be able to say that I don't get caught up in hype but they got me this time. Average to good game that I could have waited to buy.

I'll have to agree with him on a lot of points.

I get that "there's more to this game" and "plenty of content in the future", but - correct me if I'm wrong - didn't I just pay the price of a full game? I don't expect all of the 10 year plan now obviously, but for $60 there should have been more, especially given the hype.

The PvE ransoms could have been much more varied and creative. Actually pretty much everything is incredibly repetitive just like how he explains e.g. the ghost gets to a door, has issues, and you have to defend him against wave after wave who come out of nowhere. Given how instrumental ransoms are in anyone's advancement (to include these crazy repetitive scenarios within missions), more attention should have been given here. The "open world" idea should have been a lot more open and not just a "wider railroad track" on/between small maps.

I like the raiding and nightfall strikes as far as end game content goes. I guess I thought the raiding would be a bit more involved and complicated, e.g. VoG feels more like a Heroic Shattered Halls than a Karazhan in terms of coordination and difficulty of the fight mechanics, but it's still content that I enjoy. However, mat/shard farming and the ransom system are root-canal-painful in this game, to the point where they bore me into logging out. The social hub is hardly a social hub. I know it's been addressed but the chances of getting gear that reflects the item level of the engram was straight BS for a while, and I didn't like that Bungie played it off as "they are complaining about the fact that there's randomness to it" when in fact I was bitching about the fact that the randomness was weighted much too heavily with junk. Strikes don't give enough reward and the boss fights lack creativity badly. Skins on everything are lazy and unvaried. Integrated chat system could have been implemented fully. The campaign is crap and completely anti-climactic throughout. As I said in another thread, I spent a few days away from the game and didn't miss it overall. They didn't succeed in making me miss much unique to this game itself.

I enjoy the score, graphics, most of the gameplay mechanics, and the fact that it's so relatively bug-free. I also agree with Angry Joe that early progression while leveling up is rewarding, I enjoyed that aspect of the game. I like the PvP for the most part as well.

At ~4:30 he is talking about all the holes in the story. I don't agree with him there, those holes are (I'm assuming) part of the future story. You can't just tell it all up front, there needs to be room for mystery or wonder if you're pushing future content, especially if you want plot twists to make it more interesting. I do think they could (should) have included more of the story with this drop, but the holes here and there belong IMHO (again assuming they're there for future development of the plot).

I'm not sure I'll be playing this game that much longer. Unless nothing else is worth playing at the time, I doubt I'll get the DLC either. Who knows though, maybe all that will change between now and then.

Just my $.02

I can't watch any more of his videos. He's annoying as fuck.
