View Full Version : Besides video games, what are your other hobbies/interests?
Just curious to learn more about you guys/gals besides what video games you play.
When I am not working or gaming I am working on cars. My dad and I are part of a SCCA race team and we travel all over the USA and race at different road courses. Right now we are just the crew but we are building our own 85 GT Mustang and will be finished with it by next race season. On off weekends it is all about OU and Dallas Cowboy football! Die hard fan and never miss a game. While in japan I do the tourist thing. When I'm home in the states you can usually find me at the breweries along the the California coast or hiking in the sierras. Other than that I'll spend a lot of time at my cousin's property in Nevada shooting.

Where in Japan are you? I was actually born in Yokota Japan back in 81. My father was stationed there for his first duty assignment.

Nice man enjoy your time there. I loved being in Japan once I was old enough to ACTUALLY enjoy it.
cars, trucks, motorcycles, fishing, guns, sports, my dogs, learning new things, and talking trash to other sports fans. Currently I don't have any project cars but I've got a list of stuff I'm doing it want to do to my bike.

I mainly do kid stuff. I'm a Weblos Den Leader. I camp with the cub scouts, I used to be a ferocious reader but kids don't give me peace. I only get to catch up on TV shows every other weekend. I tried out making paracord stuff but that faded out. Want to try my hand at canning now. Just got the stuff to make and can some Apple Butter this week.

Although there are a lot of similarities. It is nice to see the diversity in our community. Canning sounds like it would be cool to try. Apply butter are you kidding! That would be awesome! For some reason I am not shocked that we all like guns. There is a reason I left it out of my post. I figured it was a given lol. Sounds like maybe some day we should plan a camping/fishing trip and get to know each other face to face. I think that would be a good time and get to put some faces to the names...

Kids are awesome to have and play with. I guess now there are a lot of us that have them. We aren't young anymore. My daughter will be 14 on Thursday. I don't get to do much with her at the moment she is at the "omg you're my dad leave me alone we aren't friends" phase. That will change when she wants a car. I have some really bad news for her lol...

I'm a recruiter. I wish I had time for hobbies, or for that matter more than an hour a day for the family. But if I had the time I would be hunting and fishing.

I remember those days, dreaming of the time I have left until I had my DD-214. After 6 months of the civilian life I seriously considered re-enlisting but my daughter wouldn't have it. Wanted me home. Said it was time for me to be a soldier for her at home and not for the world.

Yeah I wanted to stay for 20 but my family will always come first. I missed out on a lot when she was young and I was active duty I didn't want to miss out on any more. Her and I are best friends and since it's only been the 2 of us for the past few years I know I made the right choice.

This is a typical track, and that is not my car but I have the same one!! I have 3 of them actually. I'm into real cars but that is far more expensive of a hobby!! Lol.
I play football on semi pro teams, the last 2 years I was a free agent type, but most likely will play for the local team instead of travelling so far. I like to lift even without the goal of football, and every other moment when not working is with my son, gaming with my son or gaming.

Big into movies and audio work, do some freelance stuff for local performers when they need audition videos and such done.
Also go shooting as often as I can. Also been doing at least a cruise a year, trying to see how many Caribbean islands I can hit.
Main thing is my work, it takes up most of my time even when I'm not at work. I'm in charge of a 7 member electrical controls department for a major amusement park located on the north shore of the US. ;)
