i know right i don't understand. there have been vampire with werewolves in moves before. I have yet to see one movie or read there books. I don't really understand the Harry potter stuff either, but yet again look at the past, people freaked out when they see any kind of famous person. hell people freak out over Carrot Top. Yeah my daughter raved about Twilight so I rented it and I didn't think it was much good...it's a young person's thing db...all that first love and emotional stuff...you must be getting old :lol:

However...Harry Potter is amazing! I never got drawn in when my eldest daughter watched them as a teen, but now my youngest has caught on I have succumbed. Mainly I think because she was reading the books and I have to listen to her read each day...as you do... so I didn't have much choice and I have enjoyed watching the movies now too and seeing the books brought to life.

i'll admit it, i sat down and read all the harry potter books back to back a few years ago and i really enjoyed them. The books are much better than the movies too, but i still did enjoy the movies. After book 4 you're really stuck, you have to keep going to see what happens next. The first 3 are easily stand alone stories that need little explanation but if you go beyond that they all weave into one another and you are now a victim to it's treacherous hold.


....it really just has to be your thing i guess. I enjoy reading stories that are in no way real. What's the fun in reading a story that could just as well be you?

Just wait until the lego harry potter game comes out, you'll see it's awesomeness :D


As for Twilight, ever since they romanticized the vampire (Anne Rice vampires as opposed to John Carpenter's) it has become ever little teen girl's dream to be a vampire and/or fall in love with a vampire. So Stephenie Meyer took the vamp dream and combined it with other teen favorite plot concepts such as young love, choosing between two very different yet perfect boys, wanting the boy you can't have, etc. etc. etc., put them all in a blender, and out came the twilight series.

It's the girl equivalent of taking all the most awesome action heroes, ninjas, pirates, chuck norris, bruce lee, guns, ninja robots, pirate robots, boobs, monkeys, heists, the A-team, jets, cars, trucks, more boobs, beer, UFC fighting, and every cool guy thing ever, blending it up and making it all into a movie and/or book. So naturally you can see how every young girl would be drawn to the Twilight recipe
