Do they let the Army soldiers return home for R&R for 15 days during your 12 month deployment, if they choose to go on R&R?
When I was deployed back in 04-05 we had a lottery and some got to go to Qatar for several days. They didn't get to come back to the U.S. or anything like that. Reason I am asking is because this picture showed up on FB and some guy is saying they get to go home. Which I don't know for sure since I wasn't Army hence why I am here asking.

I stared at the picture for like a whole minute trying to figure out how it was a fail...then I did the math. Lol.
I have no idea what the answer is to your question, I'm AF.
When I was in years ago in the 90's some units got that 2 week leave straight from bosnia to the US. then back. my unit offered it to some guys, my team only got a week back in germany where we were posted and a few days in budapest during the deployment, but it would have been half way more more into the rotation, so she wouldnt be that far I think
So yes... During a 12 month deployment soldiers are allowed to go on leave.. since everyone cant all go at once, they stagger it out.. Luck of the draw, some go within 2 months of being on the ground others 1 month before end of it, and everyone else in between. but now that we have 9 month deployments they arent allowing leave anymore.. or so I have been told and about to find out next month when I leave again for another go around

Yup there is no more R n R leave due to deployments being 9 months.
There's is still emer leave of course but not R n R leave
Or they just don't do a whole deployment n they get sent home early

Was 2 week back to the states when I deployed. I went 8 months in, for my birthday even.
But yeah, it was a staggered lotto. 04-05.

The units at my base back in 2006-2009 who went for a min of 12 months got 2 weeks RR. It is possible she got pregnant.
