Do any of you'se guys have any experience with the Ford Explorer? The wife and I are looking into them and I really like it. Just wanted to poll the masses.

My grandparents had one. It was okay, average reliability for them IIRC. They liked the features.
Ford's reliability as a brand has significantly increased last few years

I own an Escape (more compact version of the Explorer).
My son sells Fords, he says they are all great... call him....lol
Or... Check the Consumer Reports page online.
My dad has had explorers for decades.. Loves them. His current explorer has almost 200k miles on it..

Just picked up the new 2015 one. I love it so far. Going to drive to Dallas tonight to pick up the wife and kids so we'll see how she cruises!

I couldn't remember but I didn't think you were in Texas. I travel for ultimate a decent bit in the summer but doubtful I'll be north of Dallas at all.

Yeah. Worst part of Texas is how big it is. I drive to San Antonio every weekend during the season for practice (2.5 hours) and that gets old real fast.

Seems like the worst cities to drive in are also some of the most populated and or capitals. I have lived in st. Louis, MO:columbia, SC: Tampa, FL: and now Orlando......the worst for driving was definitely Columbia, SC.....there were two option slow like grandma or fast like a race driver...now mix the two....worst combo ever!

Austin (TX) is as bad as Atlanta IMO. San Antonio is pretty decent for a large city. Houston can be bad, but not as bad as Atlanta from the few times I've been there.

I live just north of Atlanta.... Everyone lives outside of the city so rush hour on the interstate is hell... They've widened the roads recently so it's gotten much better than its been in the past but it's still a stand still in a lot of areas.

What year are you looking at getting? I have had the Ford Edge now for a while and I love it. I have owned a few Fords and I find them the most comfortable cars and I have really loved the edge. If I needed the room I would have looked at the Explorer.

I have a 2003 ford explorer as well as a 2012 ford escape. The explorer is a very reliable vehicle, however my transmission went with only 70k miles. but very dependable and now has 80k miles.
The escape is awesome on gas and is also a great vehicle.
