I tried playing it and honestly, I don't get it. Is this a game that requires reading the manual? I'm all for manuals, it's just not something we typically expect as a requirement anymore with the direction gaming has gone.

I created a character and then it plops me into a building with no direction after that. No tutorial or help menu. there are some consoles in front of me that seem to do something with warping but the areas are locked so i'm guessing that comes later. There are more consoles against the wall that appear to allow you to change your equipment, which is again mostly locked so I assume that will come later. Several more consoles are outside that will spawn various vehicles, most of which are locked but I was able to spawn an ATV and drive around. Not sure where I should be going or doing exactly, I followed the only marker I saw on screen which was some 1600 meters away. Got there and was killed the moment I got off the bike, no idea what was happening. Spawned again and tried peering into the apparent battlefield from a high ledge and starting getting shot by someone. No clue where they were or what they looked like. Random people were running around, i'm guessing they were friendlies because they didn't try to shoot me. I jumped down to the ground and saw a few more people running around. tried following and got killed by someone or something. One more time. spawned in, ran into the fray, saw some team mates and went to join them. Turns out they were enemies and they killed me. I really have no clue who is who or how to tell. I'm not familiar enough with the visual differences in factions so I cant just see a type of helmet or certain armor and say oh, that's obviously an enemy.

I'll try it again later but for now I'm left completely lost and confused

I just tried it and while it's not the most intuitive, it's not terrible. It plopped me straight into a tutorial and then straight to the Battlefield (which was nice that I didn't have to back out of the tutorial and reload, but it wasn't super clear at first that I was on the Battlefield because of how the tutorial was set up).

Overall gameplay was entertaining though the UI (especially the settings/loadouts menus) could use some work. I'd love to play with some of you guys sometime

Glad to hear there is a tutorial of some sort, I must have just had a random bug or I accidently skipped it somehow. I'll have to try again, maybe delete the character and start fresh since I didn't do anything yet anyway.

Which faction and server is everyone playing on?

Q.WHAT DIFFERENCES ARE THERE BETWEEN THE PC AND PS4 VERSIONS OF PLANETSIDE 2?
The core gameplay mechanics of the PS4 version of PlanetSide 2 will still retain all the features that make the game unique. The most notable changes will include the user interface, which will be customized to work seamlessly with a console controller. These differences will not affect the core gameplay mechanics. All content currently available on the PC version may not be immediately available on the PS4 version.

Hey folks....I know i havnt veen around a whole lot...ive had to move and have been forced to play pn hotel type wifi for months now. Durring the next week i woll be be getting REAL internet and plan to get back into gaming. If you havent already... pleas dont slhesistate to add me on PS4. Right jow im playing PS2 and Battlefield.
On PS2 my main is on Genudie and i play NC. i have othe rlow level chsrs that mess with from te to time on other server's and dont have a prom playong with. HIT ME UP.....
