Game franchises we want to see again

Had a thought today about older game franchises we'd like to see revisited with updated mechanics and graphics for the newer console generation.

Personally, I loved the hell out of Left 4 Dead and would love to see a new version or something similar, since Evolve ended up being a colossal turd.

Any series you guys would like to see getting new life?

And no Half Life 3s, please. We all know that's a unicorn at this point. :)

I've begun to give up on Valve ever overcoming their fear of 3rds. Half life 3. Half Life 2 Episode 3. Left 4 Dead 3. Portal 3. Team Fortress 3...... The only one I have even a glimmer of hope of ever seeing happen is Portal 3 but even that one is pretty unlikely. Maybe a DOTA 3 will surface if MOBAs hold their popularity for a few more years? Doubtful but maybe the money will be compelling enough to make it happen. Usually the problem is studios/publishers running an IP into the ground with too many sequels, whereas Valve likes to leave millions of dollars on the table as fans of their many franchises chomp at the bit waiting for another installment....This is a strange business practice in my opinion but I'm just a consumer so I can't pretend to know what is happening behind closed doors up in Bellevue...


For a more obtainable pipe dream, I'd like to see Jak and Daxter come back. We have Ratchet and Clank still around and they are great games but I always liked Jak and Daxter more. With the amazing success of Uncharted and The Last of Us I'm not sure how likely it is that Naughty Dog will ever come back to their more cartoony roots but it would be awesome if they did. Jak and Daxter may, however, be locked away in a vault with Crash Bandicoot and never see the light of day again.



My wish used to be for Star Wars Battlefront to return....now I'm just crossing my fingers that DICE pulls this off and their version is as enjoyable as the first two games were

Red dead redemption would be fun to see continued.

X-Wing: Rogue Squadron was a blast though, and I'd love to see that come back to life.
