So,
I'm considering upgrading from PS3 to either PS4, or even converting to Xbox1.

What are the pros/cons? what does everyone like and why?
I currently have Destiny on PS3.. Does anyone still play Destiny? Is it worth it to convert if I wanted to continue playing, knowing I had to pay for it again?

When did you pick up destiny? I bought it on ps3 last October or so and the ps4 version was free. J think the cut off was January 2015 for the free upgrade.

That was the major pro for me getting a ps4, I had a pretty big collection of games right out of the gate from all the cross buy titles I've gotten

I would say go with the next gen console you already have. I had a 360 so I bought a XB1 and now they have backwards compatibility which I knew they would eventually do. This way you don't lose all your old games. The difference between PS4 and XB1 is minimal, my decision to go with XB over PS was purely because I hate the PS controller and love the XB controller.

I've actually had Destiny since release, just haven't played it that much. :jaw:

Yeah, I've definitely been considering that as a plus. My counter argument, is Xbox has so many exclusive franchise games, and I can always get destiny again, + get access to Gears, Halo, Forza, and the new Tomb Raider, which aren't available on PS4...

Indeed, the battle of exclusives always makes it tough. At least tomb raider comes to ps4 next year and will most likely be a game of the year/ definitive edition sort of thing

Xbone you can buy external hard drives and with ps4 you can't. I too enjoy the button layout on the xbone controller but ps4 has a sensor pad on the controller, kind of like the touch pad on a laptop. Ps4 has Drake, Xbone has Halo. Both systems give out free games and discounts.

Speaking of the touch pad on the dualshock 4.... Has anyone come across a good use of it yet that doesn't feel gimmicky or like it would have been better suited as just a simple button? Most games seem to use it as a menu button

external hard drives are easy and get a huge one that way you don't have to dick with it anymore, think I put a 5t on mine then set it up all games download to it.

Totally a big selling point for me.. I have to confess, in my opinion, this is a big win for Microsoft. Being able to just plug in an external hard-drive for more game storage, much better, then having to completely replace a HDD in the ps4.

I'm really torn on the controller though.. I've always really liked the dual shock controllers, and the new controller looks really awesome, with the exception of the bigtouchpad. It just looks completely gimicky, and frankly just looks poorly thought out..

I'm kinda leaning to the xbox side.. hmmm

Anyone else have any opinions?
