I have to say this looks awesome and I'm definitely getting this now. The whole open world game is the lobby and you can roam around as you please with your buds in an 8 man posse killing AI and doing missions or hunt down the other 8 men in the game(16 player max). Would be nice if it was maybe 24 or 32 players as big as this open world seems to be. Imagine 3 or 4 teams of 8 roaming around either doing missions or hunting down the other posses but I guess 16 will be fine.

This should be what is on our countdown instead of something with no announced release date just retailer guess dates, come on now 8 player teams to free roam with other live players and AI to fight. The Good, The Bad, and The Timmy. :lol:

I wish Just Cause 2 would have done this too!

Yes but you can have any combination with the 16 total in one lobby. But each posse can only have up to 8 total. You can have 8 - 2 man posses if you want or roam alone against everyone. This is my understanding from the videos and interviews I have read from them about it.

looks like Rockstar already has some DLC lined up to be released in June. Best part being that it is free :D

Rockstar Games announced a free downloadable content pack for Red Dead: Redemption coming this June. The Outlaws To The End pack introduces six co-op mode missions for two to four players.

The press release only details three of the six missions. "Walton's Gold" has players fighting through a mining camp to grab as much gold as they can carry before the place blows. "The River" puts players on a raft going down river while shooting at rebel encampments. Lastly, "Ammunition" pits players against the Mexican Army in the town of Tesoro Azul in what sounds like a siege -- but it's not clear from the press release if the Mexican Army holds the town and you're conducting a siege or if they've got the town under siege and you're trying to break it.

Either way, it sounds like a good excuse for a shootout. Red Dead Redemption is out May 18.

In addition to the deep single player campaign and robust online multiplayer components of Red Dead Redemption, we are also very happy to finally reveal the game’s co-op mode, which will be released FREE in June simultaneously for both consoles via Xbox LIVE® and PlayStation®Network, respectively.

The Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack will feature six all-new cooperative multiplayer missions to play with 2-4 players. This will be a completely free download that we will have ready for you to download and play at some time in June.

These six explosive and epic missions will play out across the game world, including:

“Walton’s Gold”
Walton’s Gang have taken control of a mining camp rich with gold. Fight through the camp and load your mine cart with as much gold as you can carry and get out as fast as you can – Walton’s boys have rigged the place to blow!

“The River”
Ride a raft down river, taking out rebel encampments along the way until you reach the rebel stronghold of Nosalida and a final epic battle for the town’s massive weapons caches. Watch out for Gatling gun-equipped enemy rafts.

“Ammunition”

This game pisses me off. They spawn you as prey for all the higher ranked players. No safe zone. You can't even adjust your settings or else you get wasted. :x

The worst thing is when all the players on the online multi-player go invisible to you but they can still see you. Too many F'ing glitches already. :evil: :evil:

Multi isn't all it's cracked up to be. Forming posseses isn't too intuitive and trying to do so can get you killed. I'll play SP on my off days. I got Alan Wake also. I just got the game and I may be only 5% complete years later just like GTA4 :cry: .

Once they fix the invisible players I think the multiplayer will be much better. The map is huge!! I can see how it can and probably will get boring pretty quick though. I am wanting to check out the SP and see how that is. I did have a lot of fun tonight playing mulitplayer even with the bugs. I just wish on the multiplayer they added that you could PLAY Poker, go fishing, and swimming stuff like that.

Oh and I only got disconnected once. I guess I was lucky compared to FloatOn he kept getting kicked.

Let's see before the first update(last night) there were none of these problems and then the update and poof issues...major issues. On a side note I have figured out a boost spot. Also playing private multiplayer is much better for going after the challenges. Only play public to fight other posses. I boosted from a 3 to a 10 in 5 minutes in private mode. And private makes it much more fun for u and ur posse to explore and screw around

Online play is frustrating at best, So far the SP is Kick-Ass...It's a very Beautiful and Richly designed game. Once the issues with the Multiplayer is fixed it shouldn't be too terrible of an experience online, Hopefully they add more game modes. The Gold Rush mode is fun when it worx.......

I went to spots that I normally see them at and I went to lands I have never been before. Have to say I was getting pretty pissed about it :evil:. Tonight there better be some damn rabbits all over the land damnit. On the brighter side I did complete some challenges before that. :D

Later in the night we started to dissappear again. It was only me rookiehunter and Simmion in there too. It looked promissing when I first got on and not a sign of glitches. They sure came out later in the night. :?

That was fun last night just running arround doing those challenges and general tom foolery. It worked flawlessly for about 5 hours or so then towards 1am est it started to get a little choppy, but then again, i had been on for 5 hours, so maybe the ps3 was just getting upset.. I love playing poker in the SP, i just keep on cleaning out the game in armidillo and mcfarlands hehe. and i got the rockstar social club thingy so i got the suit so i can go play high-stakes in blackwater, waiting till i get a little farther in quests to do that though.

we'll send you a chatroom invite for the red dead room we have set up so it's easy for you to talk to everyone that's online and get you an invite.

who else needs an invite for the PS3 red dead chatroom? once you have been invited, so long as you don't delete the chatroom it should always be there so all you need to do is go back into it whenever you want to play and communicate with whoever else is playing

I need a red dead chatroom... is there anyway to distinguish them? like i have the mag one up still, but i think it just says "chat room" or will the red dead say... "chat room 2" or something.. nevermind overthinking... send meh one! im frying up some chicken right now, after i eat ill be on :0)

I had a blast with you guys last night. I also completed a bunch of challenges some with some help, even got the damn rabbit :lol: . It was awesome taking out the gang hideouts with the whole group. Tonight I have to get the legend bear. I just had so much fun hunting last night. I got the five dear and five big horns in like 10 mins. I found a great spot up by tall tree.

I finally got on the single player and it was awesome!!! Seemed like a great story and got to play some poker!!

Sorry, CryptKper you kept having connection problems. Crazy that I didn't see a single glitch last night everything was soooo smooth for me.

Played a couple hours with Float and Cajun today, we did both free roam and the structured game types. Didnt notice any lag. Only problem we had was going back to Free Roam from the gang games. It put us in different sessions, so we had to send out invites and re-form a possie.
